I barely use her, i prefer riding.

Even though it's a great car, it always feels like a compromise having to be in it instead of riding. It's too valuable and attractive to have just sat around for the sake of it.

Fair enough. That does make sense, a bike is more of a 'toy' for hooning around...

I'm sure it'll go quickly but are you likely to take a bath having just coughed for a full respray? There's a reason you did that rather than selling it in the first place...

Whoever mentioned Contours earlier; I have them on my 328i and think they look the business although I do also really like these rims:

Gratuitous Contour rim shot:

Once I've stabilised my finances a little I'll be looking for a tidy M3; still not decided on E36 or E46 yet. I really do like the E36 shape though.

Hope so, i'll get a new screen fitted this week and give it a good cleanup.

Ive bunged it on with a 4500 reserve so it may not even sell tbh.

Yours is in lovely condition, shame I'm not in a position to do something on it now.

An M3 is an itch I'm going to have to scratch.

Cheers, i'll be amazed if it sells tbh, but we'll see.

Really? I'd be surprised if it didn't. Coupe in one of the best colours with a fully respray will fly.

Right, i've woken up with a change of heart. Cancelled the advert.

Here's my question: the ad was due to go live at 8pm today, if i cancel before it goes live do i still have to pay for the advert?

Good man smile Still not quite sure what to do with mine if I'm honest.

Took a S5 V8 for a test drive yesterday. Felt good in its own right but it was no M3 to drive as expected. However it's newer, has a better soundtrack, looks nicer, has bags of torque and more importantly for my OCD, no upcoming rust! I think pottering around town the S5 soundtrack can't help put a smile on your face, whereas you swear at the M3s heavy clutch and stiff gearbox smile As someone else said earlier in the thread the M3 demands a driving style that UK roads are too busy for. But at 6am on a Sunday morning nothing I've driven before touches it.

It's an unfair comparison as the S5 isn't an M3 rival. But working for Audi as a Parts Manager it does make much more financial sense to own one.

It's almost like having the choice of drinking 5 shots in a row (M3) or chilling in the beer garden with an ale on a Sunday afternoon (S5) hehe

Edit: 1000th post!

If you work at audi that's got to factor in to it.

Absolutely. I took both for a drive one after the other and the M3 was sideways at the first roundabout! hehe

I could run it as a one-car daily I suppose but I worry it would degrade to the point that it becomes no better than any other M3 frown

It's a hard decision to make.

Aye, theyre of ann age now where it's nice to keep them just so, rather than abusing them.

I bought a cheap motorbike to run alongside mine.

I was thankfully woken up at 5.30 this morning by the cat so ended up sideways on some epic Welsh B-roads by 6.30 this morning.

Utterly epic. You need to factor in a tank of fuel every month to remind yourself why we go through all the shenanigans...

Bwaaaaaarp.

Brakes have lost a few mm though hehe

Went and looked at one this morning in Slough.
Bought it.
Over the moon.
And it's a saloon.

I just need to find a good body shop around the Southampton area as there is one little blemish I want to get sorted.

I am thinking of selling my GT Imola Individual if anyone is interested in owning one of the 50. I know this will be no good for the OP.

OP, car looks tidy. Good purchase

If anyone is thinking of selling, I'm looking for an E36 EVO cab, cash waiting. Most colours except Boston Green

Anything over £7k ideally. Top money really but when you see the add it's had 75% of that price spent on it in the last year.

Just sold my daily Ford Puma and probably the worst car I've had to sell. Anything below £1000 really brings out the social underclass. With some enquirers it was like having an email conversation with a bag of cement.
