There was a six inch scratch on the seat, but I managed to clean it and remove it myself (quite handy with stuff like that), as it had not gone through the outer surface. So no big deal in the end, although I'll have a closer look at the weekend to make sure it really is OK.

The big thing for me is that nobody there looked at my car and thought it apprppriate to do something about its state of cleanliness/presentation prior to me collecting it. And what about guys test driving it to the point where there was very little fuel left and not thinking it would be decent and courteous to stick some fuel in it?

I was directed to the local Tesco, but soon realised they only had 95 Ron....so crawled a couple of miles along the road to Shell for some V-Power.....do you think Elms are adding 95 Ron to M-cars?

YES they are, from what I have been told ALL dealerships ONLY put 95 ron in cars.

I only put normal unleaded in mine, if I'm down 30hp I'll still live with 530bhp biggrin

I did put high octane in when I first took delivery but I really can't tell the difference to be honest.

Then your not using it "properly" - I can tell every time if the Mrs has put regular in any of the cars!

Not an issue driving like Miss Daisy, but there certainly is if flexing the right foot.

I certainly don't drive like Miss daisy wink

Personally having used premium in my 997, M5 et al even with spirited driving the difference is barley noticeable - or put another way, the car is fast enough on normal fuel wink

Up-date!

Elms apparently referred the matter to BMW technical in July.

I've heard nothing since (apparently, the regional person dealing with it had been on holiday).

The clicking is worse than ever, irritating me every time I drive the car.

So it's not moved for the last fortnight.

Really fed up with this.

Waiting to see if BMW Customer Services can help, even to point me in the direction of a dealer which can offer a solution.

There is a solution of course, as the problem does not occur in later cars with different braking systems.

See above- mine has same issue a January 2014 car, or do you mean later cars than that?

Was fixed and went away for 2 weeks then came back, not as bad but still there. Haven't bothered taking it back yet.

Oh right, interesting!

Edited to add:

You might have seen this thread already:

http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8260...

Seems to be crappy wheel bearings- some have had them replaced 6 times! Apparently the bearings are from a normal 5 Series are might not be man enough to stand up to the more enthusiastic driving an M5 might get subjected to.

Someone had a theory about pads clicking against the pads- if it is this then gentle pressure on the brake pedal should make it go away theoretically - I will test this, if the noise is still there then it must be something else logically.

I'm just tired of BMW dealers, they seem to go from bad to worse.

Other half now has a new Golf R and, as much as it pains me to say, I have more fun driving it than I do the M5!

Time for a change methinks: does anyone know anything about the new Cayman GTS??

I've had three Porches's, two from new and if you think BMW dealers are a PITA.......

Not sure about a Cayman GTS so I can't help there, however their attitude towards customers and in particular the warranty is appalling - and look at the way they've treated customers of the new GT3... tut tut....

They'll never get my money again Im sorry to say.

I used to love Subaru dealers in my Scooby days, fabulous customer service.

I saw a P1 the other day and that's got me dreaming of a simpler, more honest car that can be grabbed by the scruff of its neck and driven hard.....fabulous, all-weather fun.

Thinking time.

I must agree the standard of Customer service is the pits, and PX values are just a joke, Porsche want everything for F**K all.
They will never see me again.

The saga continues!!

BMW spoke with ELMS CAMBRIDGE at the end of August, asking Elms to get in touch with me and telling me that they would do so.

Guess what?

Elms, specifically ROBERT SAWFORD, the aftersales manager, did not make contact with me.

He is the same guy who previously told me he had e-mailed me, but strangely, no mail arrived at my end.

When I asked for the mail to be re-sent (he confirmed my address, it was correct) it too, funnily enough, didn't arrive.

Customer Services have now seen firsthand how terrible the service is.

MEANWHILE, my car now clicks when driving straight too and, when I brake at low speed, the squealing just adds to the embarrassment.

How very disappointing this BMW experience has become.

Enough.

Don't think about it - do it. I ran 2 e60 M5s and then an e92 M3, tied of the whole thing and now run a Lotus Carlton. I now enjoy driving again.

The F10 5 series range all use the same bearings. The E60 spec was the same.

It is also a problem on the 535d too apparantley as I have sold them at my shop for the above mentioned reasons.
