has anyone had this fixed?
Not that I'm aware of.It's funny how the LCI cars are not afflicted: do BMW know what the problem is and engineer solutions into the LCI cars?
I think so.
I've driven seven LCI M5s over the last fortnight, with not one of them having that ridiculous clicking.
Does anyone know anything to the contrary??

Mines an LCI Jan 2014 and is affected. Although as stated above the Calipers were apparently updated a few months after mine was built. It's funny how the LCI cars are not afflicted: do BMW know what the problem is and engineer solutions into the LCI cars?

Interesting!
I'm convinced they know exactly what's wrong, but are trying to avoid an avalanche of expensive fixes.
The bottom line is we all need new braking systems.
Like I said in a earlier post, My LCI does not make any noises, and NO brake squeal ever.I'm convinced they know exactly what's wrong, but are trying to avoid an avalanche of expensive fixes.

I would take the car to another BMW dealership. It should get fixed end off.

I'm just tired of BMW dealers, they seem to go from bad to worse.
Other half now has a new Golf R and, as much as it pains me to say, I have more fun driving it than I do the M5!
Time for a change methinks: does anyone know anything about the new Cayman GTS??
My experience of owning an F12 M6 and trying to get the problems fixed by the BMW dealer was akin to buying a private jet only to find out that a Ryan Air crew will be handling your boarding and inflight service.Other half now has a new Golf R and, as much as it pains me to say, I have more fun driving it than I do the M5!

Don't worry mate, I'm near to pulling the plug!
How are you finding the Carlton?
Interesting choice Sir!
Just back from a 370 mile round trip, mix of motorway, A and B roads and the car was fantastic. Knock it into 6th on the motorway and 70/80 is 1500 rpm!How are you finding the Carlton?
Interesting choice Sir!
On the A/B roads it is as quick as you want and when I was filling up with fuel two chaps came over to chat and say they cant recall the last one they saw on the road.
All in all a great day out and much more memorable than most journeys in the M cars I have owned.

Well, almost three months after a technical request was raised with BMW (Germany) about this matter, I was today informed that there was no fix. I had to phone Customer Services yet again, as Elms made no effort whatsoever to contact me, even after intervention by Customer Services.
It seems nobody wanted to break the embarrassing news that BMW could offer no solution for this well documented issue with one of their flagship models.
LCI models from around March 14 appear not to have the problem.
I'm curious about one thing: why does the noise occur only on turning left and only on the driver's side??

I have heard there is a brake modification which sorts this problem. It seems nobody wanted to break the embarrassing news that BMW could offer no solution for this well documented issue with one of their flagship models.

I used to love Subaru dealers in my Scooby days, fabulous customer service.
I saw a P1 the other day and that's got me dreaming of a simpler, more honest car that can be grabbed by the scruff of its neck and driven hard.....fabulous, all-weather fun.
Thinking time.
Don't think about it - do it. I ran 2 e60 M5s and then an e92 M3, tied of the whole thing and now run a Lotus Carlton. I now enjoy driving again.I saw a P1 the other day and that's got me dreaming of a simpler, more honest car that can be grabbed by the scruff of its neck and driven hard.....fabulous, all-weather fun.

Back in a Scooby now for my weekend toy. If something does go wrong, it's on the phone to my indy and invariably he has diagnosed it before I have finished my sentence - and the best bit, he's always right and fixes it first time.

And how great is that, eh?
I really miss all that.
Used to love going in to my Subaru dealer.....they loved the cars as much as I did and nothing was ever a problem.....long chats with fellow enthusiasts!
What Scooby have you got?
2007 STi, built engine, running 350bhp and about 380 ft/lbs. It's silly fast I really miss all that.

the car has been in today , not fixed as a part is required. its the wheel bearings apparently according to a BMW.People who've had them changed have had the problem recur.
The report from BMW Technical cites an issue related to the front calipers...
Up-date....
Elms have fitted different pads at the front, as advised by BMW Technical.
The clicking is no longer present (I've not heard it since!), but time will tell whether or not this is a permanent solution.

- Elms went out of their way to make amends for my previous negative experience, so fair play to them.
