E39 M5 to E63 650i?
Discussion
I'm not the only one to take claims like that with a pinch of salt on a naturally aspirated engine, am I?
They quote 395bhp post-map on the 650i and it has the same engine.
They also claim a 30bhp increase on the e39 M5. Given it takes Evolve a new set of headers at £2k to get the same result I'll remain sceptical.

I will update this now.
As it turns out the comedy genius' at rix who had original offered to take the M5 and had the first 650i I looked at decided to put the price up of their car by £1000 because they had fitted new (mismatched!!) tyres and then decided they didn't want my M5 because "the wheels could do with a refurb..." its 12 years old!! But anyway....
So the story continued, I listed the M5 on autotrader and had a couple of calls and ended up swapping it for a CLK350 convertible which was OK... however a bit gutless and I'm really not a fan of mercedes. However it turns out that my own mother was actually looking for a black mercedes convertible... You can see where I'm going with this. I owned it for a total of 8 days before it went to mum.
This left me as a cash buyer to find a nice 650i and as I had already found a suitable one for a private sale I bought a low milage 650i the very next day. This all happened about 5/6 weeks ago and we have since been to Bruges, Interlaken, Lucern, Zurich, Como and Brussels on our euro trip holiday and what a car. We averaged 32mpg over the whole trip and 12 hour drives were completed with no drama. So pleased, I'll probably get flamed for this but its more comfortable, as fast and sounds better than the M5!

I was reading down through the thread from the original post and intended to comment on MPG. As you have found out, 30mpg is more than attainable on a gentle run. I once saw 36mpg in my 550i Touring, but I was trundling along at 55-60 while taking a 30 minute call.
