M3 Saloon Prices

Saloon more aggressive than coupe? Really?
A saloon may be more aggressive looking than a coupé to some. But, that is a photoshopped (to death) picture of a coupé that looks like it has been lowered (with photoshop).Folks see an M3 coupé and it looks like an M3. People see a saloon that shouldn't look like an M3, but it is an M3.
Dislocation of expectations.
Exactly people at work still say I never knew there was a saloon version, quickly followed by the saying how much they like it!
That coupe if on the road would be terrible to drive fast it would be bottoming out everywhere, and you'd have no tread left as most of it would be left on the arches lol.
Nice pic though!

I decided to buy an M3 saloon recently. I reckon I paid more for it than the equivalent coupe, but they are much rarer. The other 'issue' with the coupe is that a lot of them have been ruined with terrible 'upgrades' and stick on eBay tat. Most of the saloons are pretty much standard, which I like.
What's it like? It's great: Very powerful and surprisingly tractable considering its reputation as lacking power low down in the rev range - it doesn't have a lack of power low down - it just has loads at 8000 rpm, which makes it seem a bit sluggish at 2000! It handles very competently and the ride quality is pretty good (it has EDC) and runs in 'comfort' most of the time. I'm really not sure what it does with all the fuel I keep putting in though. I keep expecting to find a big puddle underneath the car or some sort of parasite living in the fuel tank. It really is astonishingly thirsty
Here's a crap photo just to make this post slightly interesting

I bought a 2011 DCT Saloon in Melbourne red in April last year, kept it for 7 months and it was without a doubt the best all round car I've ever had.
Fuel economy wasn't its strong point, but whoever buys a highly strung, high revving V8 for economy needs their head looking at.
I must agree with the saloon looking more aggressive than the coupe, I feel its down to the higher rear waistline.
Its a car I will revisit at some point in the future

I can see the attraction of 4 doors if you have a family, but I prefer the looks of the coupe. We managed fine for a year with the coupe and 4 year old twins, but it was a weekend and holiday car.
Fuel costs are okay (relative to power), but even on a run getting more than 24mpg seemed impossible.

Agreed, but I actually prefer the saloon in the new one.Fuel costs are okay (relative to power), but even on a run getting more than 24mpg seemed impossible.

I know what you say about fuel... When I got mine 3 weeks ago it was 21.5mpg, what's really weird is that I haven't been driving slow but it's now showing 22.7mpg yet I'm always filling it up
What you reckon the "real" figure is? Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
