Haven't seen the actual car but know the seller Barry well and he's as straight as they come. I would say it's a very good car at that money. I bought a 172 clio and a 1.9 205 off him over the years and they were both as good as it was possible to be.

What's the stats on your car? mileage, condition etc .... good E36 M3's have moved on from that price bracket now with only really high miles tatty examples needing money chucking at them down at around 4k,sure yours is nice though!smile Sensible mileage standard E36 M3's which have been well maintained are getting alot thinner on the ground these days and prices have been creeping up steadily...

Mine's got about 108k on it now (i think). Bodywork and wheels unmarked. Interior good but bolster has usual wear. Drives very well, i've replaced/renewed a lot of stuff. No recent dealer insp 1/2 stuff but maintained pretty well (oil every 3.5k, fuchs, all filters, pads, etc, new floating discs, clutch, etc, etc).

It's never had so much as an advisory on an mot. Was thinking i'd be lucky to get 4k but might need to reassess that.

Id keep it with what was originally intended, ie normal m3 spoiler. I wouldn't change for 328 spoiler as non standard and people will ask why.

I wouldn't fit a gt2 spoiler either - bit like fitting a cosworth whale tail on a non cosworth.
I'm also one for keeping a car original especially as they get older but in this case the spoiler was always an option and most were fitted by the dealer not at the factory. So spoiler less is just as original in this case and as it won't affect the driving of the car I'm pretty relaxed about it in this case. Point taken with the 328 idea.

GT2 is not an option, I'm not a fan its too much IMO.

I've still got the spoiler, just think it's a lot cleaner without.

Sounds like a good solid car that you've looked after well, bolster wear can easily be put right,I'd put it up for 7450,00 if it was mine, slightly up from 4k wink

Cheers smile

I'm a fussy bd with it, it was fairly straight already but ive had it completely resprayed and the wheels are powdercoated. It's funny, i bought it not liking the colour and being a little underwhelmed originally but it's grown on me. I'd have to spend double to get anything better.

Seem to be £7k to £25k for good ones.

Ultra low mileage ones near £25k
Low mileage ones £10-20k
Rare editions £10-25k eg Imola Edition and GT. Imola editions seem to be £10k for tatty ones up to £25k for v low milers.
Convertibles appear harder to shift
SMG cars hard to shift, even if they've had the manual conversion.

A low mileage imola edition would be my choice - one sold for £23k and the other for £20k fairly recently.

Or, a low mile Estoril blue coupe with cream vaders cloud9

There is only 1 e36 m3 coupe on autotrader, this is the first time ever the numbers have got this low. Search for bmw m3 nationally and you have to scroll past tends of e46 m3 coupes to get to it.

It's on at £10k and looks very nice.

They're now past the point of being dearer than many e46s.

Prob another year or two till even a ropey coupe is £10k though

Balls. Exhaust manifold flexi just gave out on mine. It's in at iridium for the replacement/upgrade this weekend. Not cheap, but worth doing right.

Mines in the garage but will be going up for sale in April next year frown

If the right one came up I would pay "big"ish money for one. It's the car I want to be going next.

It's a struggle finding a good one that isn't priced too high though. I've been browsing adverts for a while now, and there's a lot of cars you wouldn't want to touch. Does anyone have any good suggestions on where to look for decent cars in Beglium/Netherlands/France/Germany ?

Nice E36 M3's are a dying breed I'm afraid with alot being written off, scraped or turned into track cars, owners are tending too hang onto nice standard examples now as there vastly underated machines and with a bit of money spent on the right suspension etc very competent on the twisty stuff. You could try any of the well known specialists in the UK to see if they know of any good ones coming up...Munich Legends or Classic Heroes maybe? or failing that mobile.de has the odd nice one from time to time...

Good luck with the searchtype
