Oh my god sorry to hear that, think I would go off my head if they damaged my car while trying to fix it! Is the misfire completely gone now? They giving you any compensation?

I took it on a long run last night and yes the misfire appears to be cured. The paintwork damage is around an 8mm dia chip down to the primer just above the rear wheel arch, with some other scratches nearby. They agreed it was fresh damage and probably done whilst the car was with them.

They also found some minor scratching on the front bumper which had happened when something in the garage fell on it. I said I knew about those and they weren't their fault. As a 'goodwill gesture' they will resolve those whilst it's in the bodyshop.

It's a shame as I've had many BMW's over the years, I really like their cars, but the aftercare is frankly shocking. This will be the last BMW I own.

I've noticed the past couple of mornings, a really low RPM misfire has started to creep in.

Cold start, 2nd gear about 1000rpm and only a slight throttle opening. Only does it for a split second. Will see if it gets worse before taking it in.

Did the fan thing again last night too.

Jon, that sounds exactly like how mine started. Low throttle in auto between 1 - 1.5k slight stutter, then clears once over 1.5k revs. It gradually got worse until it shuts the injectors off on the problem cylinders.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on it. It's only been doing it for about a second when really cold so a little off bothering taking it into BMW yet
