Personally I wouldn't touch Specialist Cars!! I've bought as many as 8 M products through them in the past only to get stiffed by them on my M5!!! Would NEVER use them again as there service department is also total S***T!

They left the bung plug out on my M5's rear diff, got home in it and left massive oil marks on my drive. Rang to complain only to be told to drive it back and they would have a look as its something clearly not done by them!! (even though I paid for it to be changed!!)
I said they can send a trailer out to collect it as I didn't want to blow the diff only to be told not a chance unless I pay, made me call BMW emergency who towed it in. When in the workshop they found the bung and re fitted it and made out as they did me a favor with no apology!! Total clowns!!!

Out of interest I asked them about an M6 and they came back with 8K discount as if they were doing me a favor as I was a valid customer!!

Ended up using my new dealer who gave just over 32k of the car without really pushing them, they had the attitude of this is supported by BMW so we don't loose out and we are happy to pass the saving onto our customers!!
Two months ago they quoted me £34K OFF the M6 gc CP. Thats not even knowing me, I do not even deal with them.

Rung them today but waiting to speak to the 'specialist'. I don't mind if they're sh*t for aftercare, I won't use them for that stuff but use my local (who are also the equally sh*t Coopers)
Phone listers Kings Lynn, try them also, tell them you have been quoted £34K off and will they match it.

Looks like the 0% finance retail offer is back on the M6, although it looks like the overall dealer/ manufacturer deposit contribution is lower this time round?

Has anyone had any indication as to whether 0% might make a return on the M5 in Q4 2014?
Where did you manage to find this INFO?, Thanks

It popped up on the BMW Finance Offers site today - I have been keeping an eye out for an M5 offer, but now tempted by the M6 GC.

My M6 GC CP will be here next week, you will love that car for sure.

As that offer is basically giving you a 17k discount without asking for anything, I'd have thought that an extra 8K off would be eminently achievable.
YEP I would think so too.

I agree also, to match the best contribution that was out there previously there needs to be another £8.5k discount available. Will be interesting to see who can get what and from whom going forward.

Now with reference to the previous deal, we know BMW were prepared to contribute £34k discount, my question is was such a discount available to cash buyers? I make the presumption it was, can any cash buyer from the last quarter confirm this or was it applicable only to those seeking the finance package?

If the answer is yes it was applicable that means the same discount must surely be achievable again if a cash buyer as it cannot be the case BMW can discount £34k one minute and not the next?
YES it was, Andrew was right, I payed Cash with PXing the LCI M5.
My M6 GC CP was £111000:00 + on the road, I got it for £76600:00 all in with service pack, and noe because it's a "Late arrival " a cheque for £3K from BMW UK.
So total price paid £73600:00, thats M5 money.
IF you can get these deals now, well I don't know.
PS) IMHO the M6 GC CP will hold a better RV than an M6, it would appeal to a slightly wider audience having 4 doors.

I think they'd need to offer a bigger discount. This isn't as tempting as it was before now it's 0% if you do the maths. A shame, I was close to pulling the trigger.

Also personally speaking i don't like the look of the M6 GC. If I wanted a 5 door I'd get an M5. A coupe should only be 3 door smile
I still need 3/4 usable seats so Grand Coupe for me.
The LCI M5 was for me anyway a bit "Just 5 series" it blended in yes but did not look special enough for the money.
The M6 GC CP was a great buy for me at the price at the time.

I can also confirm they did the deal for cash, I've just picked up my M6 Coupe CP and have to say it feels a lot more special than my F10 M5 and have to say its made me realise the M5 doesn't feel as "special".
And that's coming from someone who loves them so much I've had the last three versions!!
Hi David, how does the Comp pack feel?, does it fell quicker than the M5?, I found on the demo M6 CG I could get the power down better than my M5, maybe due to a lower centre of gravity.

Performance wise I don't know yet as its not run inrage but in terms of handling it feels a lot more sorted than the M5. You can really feel whats going on through the steering compared to the M5 too.

I'm really surprised at the ride as I was worried it would be quite harsh but it is good and I actually prefer it to the way the M5 rode!! At the moment I am really impressed with it even though I can't thrash it, it feels really sorted and better put together!!!
Great mine coming next week they say, can't wait.

If BMW were offering 0% on the M5, it would work out cheaper for sure than the M6 GC.... even my man math spreadsheet cannot hide that fact. However, there was always a part of me that didn't like the exterior of the M5. The M6 GC looks much better. It also looks like there are more options as standard than the M5 (e.g. HK audio and alcantara headliner as standard) - I was looking at upgrading to the black alloys on the M5 @ circa £2K, whereas I am actually very happy with the standard wheels on the M6 GC.

The interior also looks a class above.

I am planning to start negotiating this week, but I want to get a handle on my spec. So far I am looking at:

1) Laminated climate comfort glass all round
2) Sun protection glass

That's it... I am not a big fan of all the driver aids, but am considering the rear view camera - does anyone have any strong opinions on the camera?

The only other option I am toying with is the M Sport Seats - are they worth the extra?

Is a powered boot standard?

Cheers all.

The M6 GC is a big car I have the surround view on my M5 just sold and have ordered it for the M6 GC, it's a must have for careful parking and avoiding wheel damage IMO.

Visited the first dealer and crunched some numbers:

M6 GC - £99,463
BMW contribution - £7,500
Dealer - £12,000

Net Total - £80,027
0% finance (48 months, 13K miles) - £998/ month

Incidentally, they are also doing 0% on the M5, but with only a £2K contribution from BMW - worked out at £725/ month

The dealer claimed a 12% margin on the M6 GC, so they did a good job by offering the £12K discount. Last time round, BMW were supporting the dealers by an extra £6K which is why the deals are not as good now.

I am now undecided between the M5 and M6 GC. On the one hand, the M5 will give me more of the space I was looking for, but on the other, the M6 GC is (in my eyes) a much better looking car inside and out.
It is a shame the deal I got is still not out there, M6 GC CP for M5 money was a "no brainer".
I enjoyed the LCI M5 BUT it seems just a 5 series to me, not special at all.
If you can go to the M6 GC do it, IMO it will be the better car overall.

I prefer the look of the M6 GC over the M5 but found it too wide for our narrow UK roads. Even the M5 is unsuited to some British B roads - I sometimes find myself covering ground slower in my M5 over my wife's 116i on certain roads.
You get used to it quickly, I have the 640MS D this week till my M6 GC CP arrives Saturday, same width bar a1/4" Inch, no problems on B roads at all, farm tracks are not were I drive though.

Do F1X M6's come with a service book?

Looking at a used one and the non franchised dealer tells me there is no service book - it's all electronic. Is this the case?

Car is a Sept 2012 (62 plate)
Yes this is now the case, all you need to know is on computer.

Interesting, what would happen in 10 years time when it doesn't necessarily go to an Authorised BMW Dealer for servicing?
No idea, but i would not own a 10 year old , so i don't care. wink

Congratulations. That look lovely. Really love the leather. Did you put a custom exhaust on the m6 that the tips had to be taken in?
Yes I had the CYBA Tips 90mm and listers put them on!! to far out, so I altered them to fit right.
PS) I wired the exhaust valves open and now it sounds awesome.
The competition Pack exhaust is a bit louder anyway but with the valves open even better.

Went into my local main dealer today as seriously thinking about a coupe.

Initial deal offered I thought was pretty crap 7500 contribution from bmw and 0% finance. Anyone know who is doing the best deals at the moment?
It seems the good deals are gone at the moment, maybe later in the year things may change, anyone?.

If you've got the cash to hand to pay in full and someone's offering funding at a lower cost over a couple of years than you would otherwise be earning by keeping it in your savings/business/investments, you'd be a fool NOT to consider taking up their offer, so the cost of finance is always relevant to a genuine cash buyer.

Especially where the low interest is linked with a guaranteed minimum future asset return value, having paid outright at the start, you've got no such stop-loss in place against depreciation.

People with sizeable amounts of cash as these and plenty more tend to favour minimal risk options and having all known costs at the outset gives you that.

The savviest buyers of expensive cars are extremely averse to using their own capital to purchase any asset that is guaranteed to depreciate.

VERY GOOD points.

BMW AG build it and sell it to BMW GB at a particular price.

BMW GB sell it to the franchised dealership at MRRP less a fixed margin. Some of this is given immediately, the rest earned back later through achieving various manufacturer set objectives.

To aid the dealer network as a whole, BMW GB has a marketing budget - a big pot of money to be used to influence both potential customers through nationally advertised offers: things like low APR finance campaigns, deposit contributions, support payments.

The dealership sales management compiles all the available support and works out what margin they will achieve and that informs their customer offer on an individual case by case basis as no two are usually the same.

Currency fluctuations, if significant enough will result in a general price increase/decrese issued by the manufacturer.
Another interesting and informative post, thanks.
