Hey guys, I am trying to track down any previous owners/info of my White Z4M Coupe.

As there were only 18 RHD White Coupes sold i the UK I am hopeful someone knows YC57CZK as I would like to retrace some of its history to build out my file, im a bit sad like that

I have detailed it inside and out and it has definitely been well looked after before at some point which has brought me here as well as the Z4 Forum

I would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me if they recognise it?

It was stock when i bought it so no visual clues there.

I have put some genuine CSLs on the car as well as a stubby aerial and a few other bits now though.

Huge thanks in advance!

If you contact the DVLA, using form V888, they will give you the name and contact details of all previous keepers of your car.

https://www.gov.uk/request-information-from-dvla

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/v888-re...

You'll need to pay (I think it's £5), and to complete a Data Protection Act ("reasonable cause") section stating why you want the information. I think I said something along the lines of "I recently purchased this vehicle and I wish to confirm the vehicle's mileage and service history with the previous owners", which satisfied their requirements. (Note that you must not use the information for any other purpose).

I have then written to each previous owner of each of my cars, enclosing a stamped self-addressed envelope, and explaining that I'm a bit of a car nut and was after any documentation they may have.

I've had everything back from a sheaf of invoices, to the original service history book, to no response.

For the small amount of money involved, it's well worth a try.

No idea on the provenance of the car but that is one good looking bit of metal.

Hi There,

I can't offer any details about your car, but I have one of the other eighteen alpine white Z4M Coupes that arrived in the UK. It's a 2008 (built Feb 08, registered April 08) and now travelled 18,000 miles. One previous owner. Beautiful cars. I bought it in Sussex in Feb 2012 when I was there on business and shipped it back to New Zealand. Interior is Silverstone & Graphite. Carbon fibre trim on dash. So there's now only seventeen in the UK (Presumeably!)

Like your wheels! White cars look good with dark wheels IMO.

Regards,
Paul

Love your Z4 M Coupe
Very rare!
And even rarer in Alpine White

As well as writing to DVLA I would also contact BMW UK Vehicle Information Line
Give them the chassis number / vehicle registration and they can confirm the spec, production date, registration date, price when New, Original BMW Dealer who sold the vehicle and give the names and dates of any BMW Dealers it has visited in the past. Sometimes some visits are not recorded as I have found when I visited BMW Park Lane.

Then with the names / dates of BMW Dealer visits .... Contact all the Dealers explaining your request, how unique your vehicle is 1/18 vehicles and you want to complete the history. Then provided the service advisor is helpful they will give you photocopies of any old invoices with previous owners details blanked out. I have done this and even got BMW Approved Used Car Paperwork and Original Sales Invoice (photocopies) from BMW Park Lane and BMW Cotswold Group. Took me a few goes and some persistence. Give it a go :-)

PS
BMW UK Vehicle Information Line is £1 per minute
Also contact BMW UK Customer Information Line for any useful statistics to confirm how many Alpine White Z4 M Coupe came to UK etc. This is free line I think

Also the NZ guy you must have one of the very very last Z4 M Coupes ever made. Very very low mileage too smile

Wow some great replies thank you so much.

I have tracked down the last owner now and have also put the car in for an Inspection 1 service and it came back all clear. Despite mine being slightly higher miles its a minter.

I also notice that one of the other 18 (now 17 cars!) in the UK came up for sale recently for £2k more than i bought mine (similar milage) so its an appreciating asset (for now)

thanks again all.

That really does look good on CSL wheels!

Have they been refinished, as they appear darker in these shots (might be due to the white forcing a shorter exposure time)?

Very nice car, I'm sure that they will appreciate like the previous version appears to be doing.

Going by the registration I wouldn't be surprised if BMW first registered the car for one of their fleets.

Looks great. Hopefully you can find the previous owners details and get your file up to date.

If you want to know the spec etc, type the last 7 digits of your VIN in here: http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html and will give you all the info you need.

Thanks Tony, they have been refurbed in BMW Ferric Grey II, its a wheel colour found on a few of the new BMW M styled range, I saw it originally on my mates 235i but i noticed a X6 with the same shade on its wheels.

Its the perfect balance of not too dark (which disguised the CSL wheel design) and not too light (so it offsets the white paint)

Profumo scandal at Cliveden.

Living successfully.

Owns Alpineweiss.

Was that the one that came up on the owner group a few weeks ago?
