I think it looks like a Silverstone interior.

I think only a few RHD E61 M5's were made in this colour so it's a rare beast. Good work.

Fantastic colour, black leather?
Sepang Bronze - basically a deepish cream. Works well with the exterior colour

Lovely!

All the ones I saw within 200 miles of me had really light interiors, totally impractical for a family estate...

11....

Same colour combo as mine - except I have the option wheels (m6 style). Very different to the usual colours - one of the reasons why I bought it.

Metsta, is yours currently for sale in the classifieds?
stuck it up for sale very half heartedly yes, i started a driveway project on the new house with a £5k budget in mind and have just sailed past £20k and still more to do......unlikely to sell as ive spent loads on it making it perfect.

I have been lurking about on here for a while now, but thought I would finally sign up since I have one of these. In a year and a half of ownership it has proved to be awesome fun with only a few downsides;
Failed ionic spark detection module - fixed under warranty, although I would hate to think of the cost
Fuel usage - 18mpg usually, less than 200 miles out of a tank once
Tyres, they seem to vanish quickly!
Gearbox is a bit of a nuisance in slow traffic.

On the up sides, it always puts a smile on my face, is very comfy when required, very nice to drive on the local back roads and is actually pretty good in snow too with winter tyres.

It looks like you've replaced all the common stuff and I'd say it's well priced, have you had much interest?

I can't remember if you said you have a warranty or not?

It is a BMW tow bar, but fitted by the dealer rather than the factory. Not cheap, but works well although it fowls the diffusor meaning it bends it slightly when fitted.

Thanks for the link, I have the factory fitted towbar on my e61, I've been scratching my head for ages trying to work out how you remove it!

When looking for one of these, are PH, eBay and Autotrader the best places to look?

Depends on budget really, if you have 25k+ then check BMW too, in fact there are a couple on there now. In my experience they'll be a fair bit of room to negotiate on price too.

What we need is a F11 M5. Why do BMW not do this? Audi and Mercs have the equivalent, so why not BMW?

Thanks mate, although I'm looking for one closer to the £20k mark. Miles don't really bother me as long as the clutch etc has been done and it's been looked after.

I would love to know the answer to this, especially from the person at BMW that made the decision.

Throttle actuators are likely to be an issue on high milers and probably going to be more of an issue than the clutch. To be honest you need to go into ownership with open eyes as the likelihood of big bills is reasonably high, regardless of how well the car has been maintained by previous owners.

Thanks. I've heard about those failing, do you know how much it costs per actuator?

BBA Reman will apparently refurb them but not sure on the cost?

£400 for a the pair of replacement gear cogs, and a couple hours labour to swap out, the teeth are the usual suspects . If unlucky the boards may fail too in which case there is no repair.
The cheapest for brand new actuators I've found is £1370 for the pair and 2 hours labour
