We live in a world where real men are hard to come by and for the most part when it comes to traditional "male" stuff I can out-drive, out reverse park, out over-take safely not like a tt, out-earn, out map read and out road rage most men I come across. I find myself propping up most guys I work with and meet and I'm talking about guys in Khaki suits who dodge bullets for a living so stick that in your exhaust pipes.

An M3 is a great car, great handling and great fun. There are issues with subframe cracking, so worth checking that out prior to parting with any money.
If you buy an '05 onwards (depending on your budget) then as long as it has a service history and is not heavily modified (suspension, brakes etc) then BMW will usually carry out the work under warranty.
Lots of debates around SMG vs Manual and the respective reliability. I had my SMG for four years and it never missed a beat, others have not been so lucky (SMG pump failure). I personally found the SMG very slick.
Check the running in service has been carried out and other than that they are pretty solid. Lots of them around but buy on condition and history over everything else, lots of cars have been neglected.
