Does anyone know if the above car was available with the standard multi function leather steering wheel and standard leather hand brake rather than alacantara.

Have come across an 05 M3 that comes up as a CS with ins company, has the correct CS wheels (narrower fronts than CSL), drilled discs and a late colour, but no alacantara wheel or hand brake.

I'm suspecting the multi function wheel was a no cost option, but does anyone actually know?

Thanks

I'm almost certain all CS have the alcantara steering wheel. The reason being instead of the multi function controls you have a single button for the m track mode.

This m3 may have had some of the cs upgrades? Main difference between the m3 and the cs is the steering rack. Drive a normal m3 then the cs will have much better steering feel.

hope that helps

I've just broken a CS so might be able to help. Some owners have replaced the CS insert on the steering wheel with the standard insert and re-wired it so that they can use cruise control from the new insert and move the track-mode CS button to the wiper stalk.

In addition to the steering wheel the handbrake and inserts on the gearknob (if its an SMG) should be alcantara.

If you have the last 7 digits of the VIN or the plate and call BMW on 0906 209 0001 (calls cost £1 per minute) they will confirm for certain.

170k, rust on both wings which BMW refused to sort (no surprise) and an engine issue.

Was worth more in bits sadly.

I'm gradually listing things on ebay for him.

I believe all CS chassis numbers end PP#####.

All E46 M3s have drilled rotors; the CS has larger front rotors, shared with the CSL.
