I think that only raises it to 175mph which is kind of stupid given the standard 155 limiter is actually 165 in reality.
Isn't it 190 mph?

That's mainly speedo over-read though surely? The 190 limit on the M Drivers Pack probably reads closer 200.

196mph to be precise wink....which is only a 3% variance at that kind of speed and therefore reasonably precise.

What did the official limiter-removal cost on your M6 Andrew? Was the driver experience worthwhile?

£1.5k IIRC (€2k), expensive for higher limit but the chunk of that cost was for the driving experience. I've yet to take it as they fill up really quickly, and I'd prefer to wait for one of the Nurburgring dates. I'll do it next year. BMW Aachen fitted the M Drivers pack and the service was outstanding.

Not sure why but mine hit the limiter at 172 mph on 3 separate occasions on the way to the Ring earlier this year?

How accurate at the speedos? I've seen 179mph at Bruntingthorpe in my M6 (and was still pulling well). My friend in his Gallardo 560 went past me and swears he didn't go over 175mph. I imagine the F10s are quick a bit quicker reaching terminal velocity than the older E60s etc.

All M cars seem to hit an indicated 170ish before slamming into their limiter, so around 165mph in reality.

My M6 hit an indicated 196 with it's 190mph limiter, at which point you could still fell it nudge against the limiter, albeit not quite as abruptly as it did at 170!

BMW limit their cars to 250 kph which is 155 mph but limit the M cars to 260 kph which is 163 mph, so 10 % leeway could see an indicated 179 mph on the speedo

I must be getting confused with Audi's increased speed limit option which i believe has 2 flavours on the RS's, the 1st being at 175 & the 2nd at 186 (could be higher) i think.

Didn't realise the M's had a higher speed limit than their non M cousins as the BMW blurb states 155 like the rest of the BMW range. Mine's been over 160mph (GPS speed) a few times & it was still gathering pace.

As above, i was quoting GPS speed so should be fairly accurate.
