This thread is lacking in taste. The colour is superb, also good to actually see some colour on one.
+1

My e61 is the same colour, and the colour was one of the reasons I bought it - as it's not black silver or grey ( or white) like every other car on the road.........

Perception is thats an "old mans" colour, but the main issue is that given the age and mileage, price is far too high.

If you've £16k to spend on an M5 E60, can you realistically afford to run it? Suspect most can't.

You will get more for it in parts

Gearbox alone is at least £2000

Engine £5000

Wheels and tyres £1000

Brake calipers £1000

Bumpers, wing mirrors etc all all unique to the M5 and worth a bit too.

If it became valueless in the trade I would just break it for spares.

Got to be worth a very cheeky offer, take it off their hands.
Then thrash that V10 supercar engine around.
Until something breaks, then pull apart and sell the bits.

I dare someone.

It's an awful colour. It's nine years old. It's expensive to run. It's not a very good car.

I didn't mind the colour really......

It was more the is it going to go badly wrong and cost me a fortune even tho it's under warranty!
but is that warranty worth 2.5k?
could you get a warranty elsewhere that is as good/better for cheaper; then you could choose your colour, and maybe look for lower mileage.

However if you like the colour, and the warranty from BMW is so much better, then I don't see it as a bad deal.

Trouble is its a poor condition one.

You can get a 50k mile minter privately.

I have seen similar cars for £11k private sale.

Plus, I reckon you'd get better service buying privately lol!

I couldn't believe the dire service at the dealers when I went to view. I looked at that and then drove to a private seller 5 miles away and his was £11k and in a better colour and was far cleaner.

£I reckon you're paying £5k plus for a warranty, in effect.

I have seen £10k M5s and M6s, also seen £16k 911 Turbos. They don't stay up for sale for long!

From what I saw of the car it looked genuine for its age and miles. A good detail and I think it would come up well.

Also seemed to have brand new front discs and good make tyres all round.

What made you think it was scruffy?

Autotrader, ebay.

Prices have bounced a bit now I admit but that car is no better than the cheapest on autotrader

The overall presentation but I viewed it as soon as they advertised it so it wasn't prepped.

I was in this showroom a month ago and had a play in this car. Its very clean and sounded spot on when fired up.. Colour wasn't to my taste but it is a nice car inside...

Mobile phone camera pictures make the car look scruffy.

Use a proper camera and it would look much better.
