because it's a 9 year old car, and you could buy one for 14k?

though I do like it, and BMW approved used does sound a good plan for such a (potentially) expensive car

I reckon it's a combination of:
- It will be approaching 100k miles when you come to sell it which will be a difficult sell
- You could buy a lower mileage (under 60k) one and stick a BMW/Mondial warranty on it for less
- Not may people like Indianapolis Red

It's coming into winter and most people aren't suddenly shopping for 500bhp monsters, which are not the easiest of sells even in summer as for a lot of people the M5 is simply an incredibly thirsty saloon car. We pistonheads are a minority. I bet loads of people have walked past it in the showroom, gone "ooooh that looks great" and then saw the official MPG figure.

Plus those of a PH persuasion are probably put off by the oodles of threads on here of people with horror stories of cars that keep failing on them, warrantied or no I can see a lot of people being put off by the S85 scaremongering.

People who can run them comfortably tend to have newer cars?

The biggest issue with this car by a country mile is the colour, which I think looks just awful.

I've only ever seen one like that in the flesh.....it's an abomination!

I must admit there aren't many car colours I don't like but I don't think that colour suits it either.

I went to see it and didn't think it looked too bad... Yes not my favourite but still ok.

I was thinking maybe not a bad buy if you could get 2yrs warranty.....

The pictures make the colour look a bit maroon-y, is it?

The colour's a shocker, and it's at an age when it will start to cost a lot, and not be worth much in a couple of years.

Tempted to PX it for my M6 if they give me a 2 year warranty on it.

I have an Eisenmann race exhaust begging for a new home.

Love the colour too.

The exhausts aren't compatible between the E60/61/63 though?

True. The one I have is for the E60 saloon. However it came off an E64 M6 cabriolet and was modified (with much adjustment) to go on just right. I tried fitting it to my E63 M6 but it was too much of a faff.

This thread is lacking in taste. The colour is superb, also good to actually see some colour on one.

I didn't mind the colour really......

It was more the is it going to go badly wrong and cost me a fortune even tho it's under warranty!

I love most of BMW's colours which aren't shades of grey, but this really isn't one of them IMO.
Silverstone and Interlagos Blues are superb, and I even like Sepang Bronze!

I made an appointment to view. Turned up and waited 30 mins past my appointment time and no one came to take me out for a test drive.

The service was dire.

I did spend 30 mins sitting around and looked over it. It looked in poor condition and felt old.

Ive seen better for £11k.
