18 cars in the UK impacted - only hit a very small number, in the UK, which have been individually identified - given the timing I think the majority of them had yet to be delivered (my dealer had turned the car round very quickly when they received it due to other issues in the sales process)

Still no sign of my new engine though - but they've now given me a 330d X-Drive, which i have to say is a pretty decent steer... no traction issues at all, as you'd expect
theres about 40 affected all together impacted with current line speed delayed for 2 days, Did you ask the dealer to see the engine whilst its out?

How do you know this? My dealer knows nothing about this issue.

Is there some kind of service bulletin I can quote them?

powers above my friend plus firstly they thought we could be at fault but our product doesn't support the application whats affected. not sure if there is a service bulletin but if they press hard enough at Germany they should find out what builds are affected but I don't think any more uk cars will be.

OK, just had confirmation from the dealer my engine is 'in transit' - expect it in 2-3 days so realistically I doubt I'm going to see the car this year

There's still the outstanding question as to whether all the necessary bits will be with the engine when it arrives - the one that's a worry is the exhaust manifold gasket as allegedly it's on back-order

The guy had promised to give me a call when the car is in bits so, if I'm about, I can pop down - will post some pics if i do .

As a good will gesture they are sorting out the scratches -if I get the car back quickly that will placate me, but if it drags on... well...
