Agreed, most expensive performance cars do lose large chunks of cash, especially in the early days of ownership, but I'm well aware of that.
Only if the factory over supply the market.

Just done a deal on a YMB M3, 16% off around 10k discount, so I stand corrected on my earlier post, new car just arrived at the dealer and not prepped so not a showroom or demo but not a factory order they couldn't/wouldn't do that.

I've just managed to get 18% off an unregistered showroom LCI M3 with just about every option including full leather, CCB and special paint (not purple btw!). The deals are there to be had and I'm no negotiator.

Wills, do you intend to give your car the ACS treatment you and others speak so highly of? Or are you content that the (rumoured but evidently true) LCI suspension revisions address some of the early handling issues?

Good question I think I'll wait and see, but I have driven the pre LCI launch cars and I thought they were fine but I get that others don't think they are.

Yours sounds a stunning spec with the CCB and full leather, what colour?

No, not them smile. In fairness to the person I've been dealing with, I'd rather be clear that I'm ok to divulge more information before I take a liberty.

That said, once I have the keys...

I've just read one of your posts where you say you thought the pre LCI handling was fine. I've only driven LCI so can't make the comparison but was more than happy with the traction on a damp day - we both come from F10 M5s.

It's a Porsche colour and I will post some some pics once I take delivery. As mentioned to nw, I don't want to say too much until I know it will neither compromise the deal nor the salesperson's position.

Were you tempted to wait for the CP? That was my initial intention.

No worries on the paint I await the pictures when it's all done, sounds fab.

From what I've read on F80 post the rear dampers and springs on the LCI are the same as the CP, I don't like the CP wheels at all, the extra power and other bits would be nice though but for 3k seems a lot when the wheels don't float my boat.

What I will do is have the black grills and side markers put on.

Nice...not much left for the dealer out of that deal!
Demo cars have a bit of extra margin but they usually have to be registered and kept by the dealer for 3 months before they can be sold.

He does 30-35k a year so changes cars at least once a year - and from what I understand always new cars so needs to secure big purchase discounts else those losses will be too high to justify.

Still the M3/4 will be a vastly inferior tool over the M5.

I loved it so much I bought another one...a 2013 car with ultra low miles.
I may switch to a M4 next year - maybe.

Yep - this is The Jungle, as we wait for the M3torque tunnel to be forcibly re-opened....
