Hi guys,

Classic long-time lurker, first-time poster, post coming up!

Just been discussing a deal in my local dealership for an M3 and wanted to get your thoughts. The deal is as follows:

Mineral Grey
MANUAL!!
Carbon Fibre interior trim w/ Black Chrome finishers
Loudspeaker system - harman/kardon surround sound
Sun protection glass
Apple CarPlay preparation (does anyone know if this is worth it?! Can you add it later through the iDrive 5 app store?)

Poverty spec but I want something that will go under the radar a little.

OTR list - £58,225.00
Dealer Discount - £6,863.10
Purchase Price £51,361.90
Customer Deposit - £7,600.00
Monthly Payment - £600.00
Term – 4 years
Annual Mileage – 8,000
GFV - £23,284.64
5.9% APR

I make that just shy of 12% discount...

What are your thoughts? Does anyone have any idea what, if any contributions are available from BMW/BMW finance in Q4? From what I've found out it's sweet fa.

Thanks,

Oli

Can't comment on how competitive it us, but at first glance £1.13 per mile seems pricey

Pricey for a car or pricey for an M3?!

I agree, it's a fair amount per mile, but with discounts the way they are now, and the want to get something ordered now and registered before April 2017 to save the additional £1500 in tax, I thought it was okay...

I will no doubt be going way over mileage and paying 15p per mile excess, or whatever it is, which will bring price per mile down a fair bit.

Thats not quite how it works...how cars are forward ordered is quite an involved process for BMW UK, BMW AG and UK dealers. A UK dealer has a contract with BMW UK for the number and types of cars he orders and can't make short term changes...except to take any extra cars that BMW UK may have.
BMW UK give dealership franchises a target and it has to be met anyway which way BMW UK don't care, and these targets have gone UP.
Dealership as of today are NOT selling enough new cars, that's a fact, for whatever reasons (brexit or whatever), so you can expect more pre-reg cars.
M3/4's are NOT selling now.

Maybe its changed since I last worked in a dealership...but its not normal for the importer to set the overall new car sales targets for dealers to hit.
The importer sets the on target bonus amounts...which are high enough to encourage dealers to agree a target as high as they realistically think they can achieve.
Its highly unlikely that BMW UK set the targets as they could simply make them too high to achieve and avoid paying on target bonuses which are substantial amounts of money.

HI max, from my sources within some franchises Coopers, Elms, both have confirmed my comments.

I spoke only yesterday to one and they are not selling much.
However it will pick up no doubt.

A few BMW "M" drivers have moved to These cars some on Mcutters have gone over and say they really are great. Expensive compared to the BMW discounted cars though.

I don't. No decent discounts to speak of with the C63 and still very high lease costs.

LCI M4 coming out next year and reduced production of M3 / M4's currently probably doing that.

From what I can gather there aren't many good deals on the M3/4 at the moment, nothing like the previous 18% and 4.9% APR seen earlier this year.

I'm after one too, but happy to wait it out until the deals come back. Only issue with the M3 for me is that the F30 is getting old now, so as much as I want 4 doors and think the M3 is the much better looking car I will be looking at an LCI M4.

That said if MB start doing some favorable deals on the C63 Coupe and will be there in a shot!!

You can't track on line in the UK, only through your dealer.

Once you have an AG order number from your dealer you can track the complete process via the BMW website genius.

Edited to add Apple CarPlay can only be added by the owner through connected drive once you take delivery and currently IMO it's not worth the money.

It offers nothing more than the idrive does and costs £230. In my view it should be include in the car FOC when you're paying the money you are for a BMW yes

Plus 1 on Apple Car Play - it's crap.

Unless... you've got a car with no Sat Nav and no music app integration.

They've been doing it for ages on bimmerpost in the UK forum, tracking the car from order through to shipment etc...

with the collapse of the pound - discounts will be long gone. My view was discounts were offered by BMW to allow for fluctuations in exchange rates, when pound was strong against euro - discounts were better. Now the differential has gone, and wont be back for a long time.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens, the pricing of the new G30 5 series will be the foretaste of what's to come.

Looks like discounts are getting smaller at the moment (from the examples above), but there could be many reasons for that.
