Went to another dealer today and was offered 8% off (£5k) without much fuss. Seems that's the level that's fairly easy to attain, anything in addition is harder. Going to visit another local dealer tomorrow to see what they can offer.

I'd really like an extra 2-3k off to do the deal though.
Are you really going to take that hit on the value of your current car as well?

^ not sure what you mean, are you referring to the negative equity I mentioned? I shopped around and got some quotes, seems the first dealer was way off at £30k and £34k is easy to get.

Of course that's what I mean, you've mentioned it on two threads, hence the question.

I was one of those that replied, helpfully with what I'd got for my M3 to you.

Sorry , I don't usually take note of usernames. Trade price seems like it's 33 - 35k so that's what I'm after. Thanks for your help

Just to update this, managed today to get 14% off list price after playing 4 dealers against each other. Very happy with the price given that some wouldn't even entertain half that.

The only downside is you have to promise the dealer you'll buy now, then when they come back with the figures, you need to walk away and give that price to the other dealers. It does feel kind of stty to do it but I just kept reminding myself they aren't my friends. The other dealers turned quite ar5ey when I told them I'd bought from the other, so maybe I could have got a bit more off, they said I could have, but they would say that now...

I've seen a few people with 15% off and one with 18% off but they were both pre-reg AFAIK so I think I've got a good deal. Keep pushing if you're still negotiating, you'll find a dealer who can budge. When it's ready, black sapphire, will post pics here biggrin

If anyone wants to know the details of the dealer they have a MW convertible and BS coupe in stock please PM me (SE London area). You could probably use my example to get a better deal as well.

Stephen James?

Was it 14% off list or the equivalent via a dealer contribution?

Sounds like you got a fantastic deal.

No shame in walking away mate, they aren't your friends as you say. I'd love the details of the SE London dealer but I can't PM yet

Hi All,

First time poster... long time lurker.

Have been following this topic for a few weeks and been tracking the M4 AUC cars almost daily.

I have seen some pre-reg deals coming and moving through which look appealing and priced at around 15% off list price.

Awaiting for one to show with my ideal spec or for brand new discounts to go low enough (bmw/ dealership contribution).... Also tempted by the LCI but not sure if I have the will power to wait that long.

Some advice please.... Seeing the new BMW Iconic Laser / LED M4 lights how important is getting the LED lightest keep the car looking fresh post LCI (which is rumoured to have LEDs as standard) and maintain appeal to sell in about 4 years time?

I have negotiated a 12% discount on an M4 Convertible DCT with about £2.5k of options, physically available car but not used/pre reg. Pushing for more and will see how that goes....!

That's a good discount, is it on condition you take it this month? If you can beat that it'll be an amazing deal. I think February is a good month to buy as it must be relatively quiet for dealers to actually register new cars this month.

Just to update for those who asked (sorry don't think I can reply to PMs?), the dealer I used was indeed Stephen James Ruxley in Sidcup who gave 12% off. I also went to Arden in Maidstone who offered the 8% discount.

Sidcup have a black M4 Coupe and AW/MW (not sure which) M4 Convertible unregistered in stock as of now. Hope they won't mind me posting it here. The spec of mine (from memory):

Black Sapphire DCT
Harmon/kardon
Extended storage
Speed limit display
reverse camera thing
Sun protection glass
Black wheels

Plus a decent p/x value smile

Would ideally have liked HUD but never mind. Getting it at the weekend biggrin

Not conditional on a 64 reg, can have 1st March on a 15 plate if wanted (which I obviously would do!). Have asked for the service pack to be thrown in and I'll take the deal as it will be very competitive. Waiting to hear back

I think that given the Lci is going to come out within the next year probably, I would probably spew if I'd spent the same on an old-fashioned looking one that will date a lot quicker than the Lci one and not have the teething bugs ironed out...

^ Maybe, but then you could argue you won't get the LCI as the next model will be out in 18 months after that, or whatever. I'd not be that bothered about LCI. I bought a 2010 plate M3 for a massive discount as the LCI was out a few weeks after that, but of course without such a significant discount. Swings and roundabouts...

The differences are so "minor" you would not even notice.
I am happy with mine and will not upgrade to the new version.

1 week to Q2, what are people thinking... Larger discounts, better APR rates, nothing?

No worries smile. I think the best we'll see in qtr 2 is 4.9 apr with no BMW contribution.

My prediction: last week of April there will be 4.9% and the contribution will be 4.5k

There's a used M3 DCT on AT for £47k, that's quite a saving on list, looks like virtually every dealer had a black demo though, loads for sale.
