I am surprised M3/M4 is not more heavily discounted.

Every single BMW dealer I have been to has at least 2, and sometimes upto 5. All new and unregistered.
Oh good - I'll need a new one to replace mine when they cock up the repairs .... smile

How are people getting on with these deals then? I'm looking at replacing my current car at the end of June/early July and was looking at the lease deals today.
Is it possible to know how much roughly people are paying for a PCP and not a lease? Peter Vardy Aberdeen still seems quite good, I have 3 BMW dealers within 30 minutes driving and I might start calling in again at them soon and see if they can match Peter Vardy

Hi Folks,

Heading in tomorrow to do a deal at Sytner on an M4, I hear they can be quite tough to negotiate discounts etc.

Think they have a few in stock although none have LED lights and HUD together. When I went in yesterday for a warm up the dealer seen to dismiss the options as not really all that.

Kinda my first 'rodeo' any tips?

I have to ask. After reading this thread why would anyone head into a dealers who doesn't give discounts to 'do a deal'

If you want a tip, read the thread, last few pages for named dealers that will knock off 10 k maybe on stock cars

Certainly not worth 10k. I imagine all you folks have done the round on most dealers a few times, if you all suggest that these guys are that stubborn on discount that a visit is not worthwhile, then I intend to heed that advise and thank you for it.

My local VW dealer offered me a set of floor matts on a new toureg. I looked at him like he was an alien. Peaking over his shoulder I happened to see the welsh dealer that had the same exact spec. A phone call later and a saving to pay for a holiday at the mina a salem lol

I'll add the road trip to get the car was great. Stayed over in a nice hotel etc. I would go nation wide to save a few k, no question.

Maybe not £10k but personally I try to buy from my "regular" dealership because they have always looked after me well as a service customer - a noticably better experience than several other dealers in the area - and thus I feel its only fair to give them the chance to supply a car when I'm looking. Over time you establish a relationship and they go further to look after you e.g. lending a demonstrator when you're booking a service and you've left it too late for a loan car. Just little things that make a difference because they value your ongoing business. I probably pay a small premium to use them by not ringing around and trying to drive the hardest deal between different dealerships, bit I'm happy with that. A £10k saving is obviously substantial but £1k I wouldn't be too fussed about.

I agree and that is what I did. Shame they offered nothing. The dealer I purchased from was 300 miles away and when I urgently needed winter tyres, no one could supply but he could and had a set courier end to me from Germany. This was a yr after purchase.

I think buy local for convenience but my experience. Is zero loyalty or goodwill from them. Maybe the smaller dealers are different. I will add that my last 6 car buys were unseen and no test drive.

I've built up a relationship of sorts with my local dealer and I think it works they gave me an hour or so of the service depts time this morning for nothing and helped me out.

I have contacts with the sales manager/sales guy/SA/body shop people and parts dept and I think it helps.

They're a great dealership and better than the one I used before who were pretty useless and robotic.

And I know they have lots of M3/4's in at the moment so will do a deal! Lloyd BMW.

Dear PHers I have done the deal. After bopping around a few dealerships i finally settled on my local.

Was able to achieve 12% discount on a factory order to my spec.
Went for the stealthy look
Black on extended back
HK
HUD
Black alloys
LEDs
Sun protection
Comfort access
Surround view
Park assist
Reverse camera

Looking at early July delivery

Thank you all for posting on these message boards, the wealth of knowledge on here was key to me securing the deal.
I think the next 2 months are going to go very slowly.

Really can't believe I finally did it!!!

Thanks again!

which dealer is that?
Just been down my local BMW where I bought my M3 from - they strongly hinted I wouldn't be getting a big discount from a £66k M4 they had in the showroom.
But then the M5 is 0% on PCP with about £10k BMW UK discount ...tempting!

I've just been on the BMW M Performance in Vegas where I got to drive an M3 amongst others, so I'm off to see my local dealer on Sunday where BMW are saying "The sensitive nature of these significantly reduced priced BMWs, means that we are not permitted to promote the specific price savings prior to the event."

I'll let you know how I get on discussing an M3...

So, you will have one of the last Non-LCI cars?

The gen2 which is build date July onwards as I understand it, will have Led rear lamps, a bigger higher res Nav screen, comfort access & Harman Kardon as standard and is rumoured to have more bhp too.

Can you not delay your build and get a Gen2?

12% is about the best I could get on the day as well, and it's a car they have in stock.

Probably wouldn't get the 12% on that though, at a guess.

I was enquiring and I was not sure my 9% deal was the best I could get but the dealer I was speaking too did not care if it was a car before the LCI or after the 9% still was firm.

I am looking for a better deal than that though - so my look carries onwards.
