I was enquiring and I was not sure my 9% deal was the best I could get but the dealer I was speaking too did not care if it was a car before the LCI or after the 9% still was firm.

I am looking for a better deal than that though - so my look carries onwards.
Try orangewheels.co.uk they seem to be keen on getting deals on M3s, but you will have to call them and be ready to buy before they lift a finger for you.

Was just looking at a used convertible, only 900 miles on it ..... Would have been 70odd thousand new says the sales person. List price? Said I. People pay list price, we don't discount them says the sales person
Yeah right.

I was told a few weeks ago that I'd get a very small discount on a M3/M4, yesterday I was told I'd get a car 'thrown at me' as they need to sell at least 20 new cars before next weekend, I told him I'd go back next Saturday. If they've already sold 25 cars I'm snookered, if they've sold 19 then my luck might be in. Having said that, I may have bought a C63 before next weekend. Decisions, decisions.

Nice problem to have - did they mention more than 12% ?

No mention of any concrete figures, he may be full of it tbh. I spoke to another dealer today who thought 5% off a showroom car was a fantastic offer!! I said I'd let him know smile Its a pity Drive The deal don't do BMW, Ive managed to get Audi's and VW discounts much easier once I've mentioned what deals you can get through them.

Best of luck, looks like the poster earlier got to 12%. You may want to approach Tony at BMW Chiswick.

Coast2coast cars are showing a 7% discount.
A dealer down south supply's them with their cars so going direct would save their mark up!
12% should definitely be achievable.

I ordered an M5 yesterday ,list price with options was just over 80K,after negotiations cost me £4800 more than a deal I was offered on an M4 4 weeks ago, well pleased

Currently looking at buying an M4 Coupe and wanted a wee bit of advice about what options are/aren't good news regarding resale value, what options enhance the car/experience, etc... I'm aware that DCT is very desirable, but the manual gearbox is non-negotiable in this case.

Colour combinations aren't set in stone yet but so far the spec looks like:

Manual Gearbox
Mineral White
SO Leather
Sun Protection Pack
HUD
Front Armrest
Carbon Fibre Trim
HK Audio
Gloss Black Grills

We're in Dundee (NE Scotland) but don't mind travelling for the correct deal, I'd rather a few hundred mile round trip than pay thousands more by restricting our search to dealerships in the local area. Do you guys think that a discount on the above factory ordered (LCI) car around the 10-12% area should be achievable??

Cheers,
Grant

10% should be easily achievable - I was offered this after 5 minutes of negotiation. However, I'd expect to be able to achieve between 12-15% discount, depending upon when you catch the dealer in their sales cycle.

What's the likelihood of getting an LCI car if I was to order in the next week or so? Do I have to wait for them to come out or does the time it take to build them mean it's the luck of the draw?

So, you will have one of the last Non-LCI cars?

The gen2 which is build date July onwards as I understand it, will have Led rear lamps, a bigger higher res Nav screen, comfort access & Harman Kardon as standard and is rumoured to have more bhp too.

Can you not delay your build and get a Gen2?
I asked my local dealer about this today and he said the facelift only applied to the regular 3 series, not the M models. He told me they are built in different factories and share very little. He had absolutely no knowledge of any M3/M4 facelift and didn't expect one for a year or so yet given how recently they came out (compared to the latest 3 series being out a few years already).

Anyone else heard different?

Any advice on dealers with either with M3s in stock or happy to do a deal on a new car? A lot of the recent comments are on M4s, and I see that a few dealers are switching over to M4 Convertibles as their demonstrators ready for the summer, but I really need an M3 for the rear doors (kids).

My ideal spec is quite long:

DCT
Grey
Black wheels
Black extended leather
CF interior
Parking pack
safety pack (forget name)
HUD (EDIT - forgot this, duh)
Adaptive xenon lights + high beam
heated steering wheel
sun protection glass
rear side blinds
armrest
speed limit display
storage
internet (EDIT - subsequently decided against this)
online entertainment

Really not sure about those last 2, just ticking the boxes because they're cheap and not sure how handy they'll be in reality. My wife was really keen on the safety bits, so I've dropped comfort access and added those instead.

Any comments on those or the rest of the spec?

If I go new it will be my first new car for over 10 years, and first BMW full stop.

I was at Peter Vardy Edinburgh last week and they had a new Grey M3 in stock, it was stickered up with about £6k off list, not sure of the spec though, I'm sure with a bit of haggling they'd knock a bit more off.
I believe the facelift will be on the M3 too, I can't see the flagship model lagging behind the 320d

I was with a dealer today who was walking me through the updates and he said that the M3 hasn't been updated yet. This report would agree with what he was saying, it looks like it's coming out for the Frankfurt show in September

Yes, sorry it's not on the M3 just yet as the cars the dealers have are old stock, the facelift is due to come through on the M3 in the third quarter I think. The 3 series facelift cars are just coming through now. Very small changes tbh, but nothing worse than spending £50k on the 'old' model, unless you get a good discount I suppose.

Yes - your dealer doesn't know what he's on about!

The M3 will receive an LCI update from July build onwards; lots of info on what’s included via an internet search of ‘F80 M3 LCI’, but some headlines are comfort access as standard, revised SatNav (new thinner and wider screen) and new rear LED lights…

I’d find another dealer!

I wouldn't bother the internet but the online entertainment is good.
