Still looking to find out whether the M4 will receive the LCI updates as well, but as discussed in this thread, the dealerships which I've spoken to don't seem to have any information or hard facts about it. Just speculation of the same information that we have all seen on the internet.
Regarding our purchase, out of the four dealerships which we've visited, one isn't discounting their car at all and is massively out of the area we expected to be. One gave us a ballpark figure, nothing concrete. One is waiting for that one to give us hard and fast figures before quoting and the final place has said that they couldn't compete with the ballpark figure and didn't want to waste my time.
Going to start casting the net a bit wider I think, although it's frustrating because we have a trade in which I assume people will need to see before giving us figures on the car.

I am certain this is the case - I can speak from experience in the distant past how frustrating it is when you get a new car and very shortly afterwards there is a facelift. It only happened to me once and I swore it would never happen again, but my experience is that it is very difficult to get reliable information from the dealer, even when you are a repeat customer.pjv997 said:

Whilst the links are for the US market, only 1 plant builds the F80 M3. The logistics for just in time delivery would be counter productive to build two model year variants at one time. So your common sense statement makes sense to me. Looking back at the past when there has been LCI in the M3 life-cycle whilst the front of the M3 largely remains the same, the LED rear light and interior spec changes almost happen at the same time as the rest of the 3-series range.The links above are for the US market. So I'm thinking of chopping in my Cayman GTS and 330d and getting an M4. I need a one car solution and the aggregate payment for both of my current cars opens up a lot of options whilst still reducing my outlay each month.
Was wondering what a realistic discount should be on a pre-reg M4? dealer is offering a laughable 8%, but I've seen that bettered on new orders.

I ordered my M3 through Park Lane - they told me about the LCI updates and the timing of them, I then confirmed the details via the internet. I think some dealers are pleading ignorance to sell pre-facelift build slots they have reserved or current stock...
Ultimately if you are happy with the deal and aren't bothered about the update, it's not a problem.

I was only told 'mid-July' production onwards - but the dealership delayed the submission of my order to ensure I got the LCI updates on the car with expected delivery sometime in late August.TheDeadPrussian said:

Are you buying to keep? or is it on a PCP? The reason I ask is the LCI will be more sort later down the line so waiting 12 weeks might be a better decision.
If you're going to just chuck back at the dealer after 3 years then perhaps it's not worth waiting, unless the Nav/idrive screen is a real step on.

It's a cash purchase and will probably keep it 18-30 months going by past experience. I'm impatient so decided to get the car at the earliest. Whilst I always like the latest toys etc in this case they don't seem a big enough improvement to justify a delay.
I have noticed for M cars people are not hugely fussed about facelift/pre facelift as the changes are so minimal that not worth the hassle of bothering. On any non M car then yes the changes are significant the majority of the time. Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
