Just missing two rear doors and decent wheels, then it would be perfect wink

Anyone got any good contacts at BMW dealers, I'm after a 'cheap' M3 CP

I was offered a late 2016 slot for a M2, now tempered for high spec M4 CP. I had a lot fun with the configurator, ended up of ticking majority of the options. RRP around 68k, ouch!

I have had 2 minis and 2 bmws in the last 6 years. all serviced at the same dealership in Warwickshire. the sales guy knew me quite well and agreed to phone back with a deal today! Somehow, i feel unprepared for the hard negotiation. Should I aim for a 20% discount? That means 55k for a 68k car.

another concern i have is the amount of M4s on the 2nd hand market. 14 plate with sub 10k miles are listed for 40k. that is a minimum 15k depreciation in 2yr of ownership. That is a deep cut in my point of view, am I wrong?

I would aim for 17% discount, that should be achievable but you may need to speak with a few different dealers.

In terms of depreciation £15k after two years isn't bad on a £55k car. It means it has retained 72.7% of it's value over 2 years which is better than average.

More like 20k depreciation in two years, as if they are up for 40k retail, that will be 35k trade-in at best.

My advice would be to run cars like thus for 4 years and amortise, say 30 k over a longer period. Back of a fag packet suggests 30k/4 yrs. but the point is you need that decent discount to saved your ass. Buyers who left in early, even now I bet some just cough up the sticker price, will rake a right royal pounding. The last M3 I owned was 2005, an e46. I only put 5k on it in 18 months and lost 15k I recall which is ok. 30k is frightening

From what I'm hearing achieving a 17% discount at the moment is a lot harder than a couple of months ago. I'd certainly try, I think 20% is pushing your luck. But as the old saying goes if you don't ask you don't get. Just make sure you let them know you're there to a deal and that if they get the numbers right you'll shake their hand. I've found they're more reluctant to do this over the phone or email. Either way good luck. smile

Does anyone know if it makes a difference at the end of the month, or even more at the end of the quarter?

I'm now after an M3 + Competition Pack, but am not in a desperate hurry so can talk with a lot of dealers and wait for the right deal.

Many thanks.

Thanks v much. Does anyone know if there's a list of BMW dealer groups published online? Am trying to think how to avoid inadvertently calling two dealers from the same group, as that won't yield great results when searching. Thank you very much.

why not start with calling the ones listed on this thread, who have offered 15% in the past.

Start with Peter Vardy as they are advertising a good discount on their website.
