wow are you an accountant or a driver?

I'm thinking the former....

just buy it and love every second.
Why pay more than necessary for it?

Not looking for the best price you can get, when you're looking at £60k+ cars, is just nuts.

The problem with pre-reg cars is that they are not usually subject to the same discounts as new cars - hard to get 4.9%APR and you don't get the contribution from BMW FS.

I too will be ordering an M3 CP this year, likely in September for a year end delivery. Considering an individual colour (Grigio Telesto), but will likely get a 'normal' colour and go full on with the carbon instead.

I'll be looking for 4.9% + min 15% discount.

Like when I bought my 640d I can't decide whether shelling out £1600 for the LED's is worth it or not... decided not with the 640d.

I'm not to concerned about the 4.9% as Lombard have offered 4.01% if I go down the route of no guaranteed value, which doesn't bother me as my partner will have it off me after 3 years. A discount of 15% seems to be the opening number of dealers who are willing to talk sense. Like another poster said you really do need to buy these cars at the right price otherwise you will end up with egg on your face.

I originally selected manual but after driving the new auto box in a demo car for the last 3 days I'm having second thoughts. I have always been impressed with the Porsche pdk box, I would say this is now on parr. I had a v8 m3 for around 6 months, got rid asI hated the auto box! In it!

Your comments on the DCT box on the M3 e92 are interesting since this is the same as the unit on the F80 aside from software mods to improve take up.

That's interesting.

The main issue I had with the gearbox was from cold,I found it very jerky. At the time we also had a 997s gen 2 pdk. IMO the gearbox in the 911 was far superior.

I wonder if it's as simple to up load new software to the v8 version?

I've just picked up my M3 CP, I got nearly £10k off list. I don't think BMW are putting in that much support now though, I ordered it in May when deals were stronger. Great car btw.

I've delayed my purchase on seeing the M4 LCI pics on Bimmerpost and on here.

Still going to order a new M4 CP but waiting until the early new year to place an order once launch date of the LCI comes out.

Just remember to get it before April so you don't get stung by the new VED rates.

The software makes all the difference in these gearboxes, the F80 shares the same DCT as the F10 M5 (Getrag DCI700) I'm not sure the e92 DCT was the same iteration though, much lower torque but higher revs to deal with.

Coast2Coast are quoting £9k off a base M4 so that's a very good starting point when you speak to your dealer.

Anyone know the cost of Grigio Telesto, I am waiting for a dealer to get back to me. I need an estate so its for a F31 340i but assume the individual paint should be the same cost?

I bought mine off MPJ. Great deal and excellent service. I'd recommend anyone who's serious about buying to contact him.
