Not sure this strictly belongs in this forum, or the general BMW one, but went out today with the wife to test drive a Golf GTi and an M135i, both used. Golf was nice enough, but we were both of the opinion that if we were going to jump on the finance train that it needed to be pretty special, and the Golf just wasn't quite ticking those boxes.

Pulled up at the BMW dealership and saw the little 1 sat there, never going to win any beauty contests, but did look purposeful and a bit special. Test drive really impressed me and I loved the car, as did the wife.

Figures didn't quite add up for it though being used, as the rates for the finance were that much higher and I'd seen the prices for preregistered ones from the chap on babybmw and knew that better deals were available. Salesman went off and had a look at what they had available from their stock and found one their sister dealership had registered in November, in Valencia Orange (which I secretly wanted all along), with all the toys I wanted, for £7k off list. Suffice to say we've gone for it and I'm now a giddy little school kid again waiting for when we can go and collect it. Planning to take Thursday afternoon off and go along to pick it up.

Will be grabbing plenty of photos whilst it's sat in the showroom for collection. Not seen it in the flesh yet, so I'm interested to see how the colour appears in different lighting conditions.

Another bonus we found out yesterday was that the APR rate is less than he quoted on Saturday, so it's costing even less per month. Top service so far from Wollaston.

Mine is quoting 5.9% APR but Stratstone deal quoting 4.9%? Dealer tells me that BMW set the rate as it's through their finance. Is the Stratstone deal outdated then, or is he having me on?

PS. Pics... yes will do!

One Dilemma - have opted for Oyster Leather, fed up with black, but thinking with the kids... in the back climbing about... after football! scratchchin

OKay I see, that's on a 1 series and the current deals on BMW finance are at over 6% so God knows where they get the figures from - sounds a good deal to me.
Still 5.9% isn't too bad, hopefully that's par with other 3 series deals. I forget now why I posted on here when it is a 135i thread? Senior moment perhaps!!

A friend has just collected a nearly new ASC1 M135i (AC Schinizter)....what a car! I didn't know you could get 360 bhp in a 1 series without the premium price of a 1M?

No, not a pretty car by any stretch, but there's something about it and it's growing on me.

I actually like the look of them, especially in Valencia.
I think Its slightly awkward styling gives it character, in a world of photocopier hatchbacks.

You do know, not everyone is party to the conversation you are having, in your own head? They are called "thoughts".
It why posters try to explain their thoughts, rather than blurting out a couple of associated words.....
