And oddly my power dial shows power in KW, and the one posted below on M5 board shows it in HP. Would much rather see mine in HP, but haven't seen anywhere to allow configuration of it..hmmm will have to have a look about in various settings menu's and see if its configurable like 12 or 24 hr clock etc
You can change this in idrive-settings-language/units.

I have this on my May 13 F10, but only noticed it recently!!

I can only think it was added as part of a software upgrade when the car was being serviced!

May 13 F10 M5?

Has it recently been serviced & do you know if it received a software update?

It had work done before Xmas and came back with one or two different things, including this (I noticed eventually!)

Some dealers upgrade automatically, mine may have been a special treat, designed to appease me in some way.

Do you have a heated steering wheel? If so, do you now get a message on the cluster when you turn it on?

I've had this, but it doesn't happen often and I only ever see it out of the corner of my eye (so never 100% sure that it wasn't the sat-nav moving around).

Possibly it's connected to this: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... ?

Also, other than for the drivers seat, none of the passenger seatbelt warnings work. Service isn't due for a few thousand miles yet and can't stand to be without the car just to get little niggles sorted wink
Hey Andy !

I wonder if you ever got to the bottom of the passenger seatbelt warning not working ?

Notice it yesterday with my girlfriend in the car and removing the seatbelt did not sound or illuminate any warnings...

I don't really care about the warning buzzer / light, but I don't want the car to think there isn't a passenger in the seat and NOT deploy airbags on the passenger side, in an event where they are required.

Thanks !

I was told by BMW that in the M5 only the drivers seat has the seatbelt warning.

OK thanks !!

Seems a bit odd though. Very odd actually.

Reading the US manual suggests that it definitely runs through a procedure of checks to decide if someone is sitting in the seat, and then check if the seatbelt is buckled or not and then sound a warning if not buckled and its occupied....

My car certainly 'bonged' if I either placed something heavy or a person in the front seat and they didn't use their belt.

Sad face. One doesn't have it.

Must remember to ask the dealer to upgrade the software when next in for something trivial!

Will contrive a reason soon....

My dealer tried his best even put in a tech request to BMW when I my had my M5 (2014 build LCI) as they couldn't get them on, not sure if anyone has managed to have them retro coded.

Two things..

My 2015 M5 has the display. Never use it.

My misses was in the passenger seat earlier and I drove off before she put her belt on and it didn't start bonging at me.

Guys you can all upgrade the software yourselves in 10 minutes. Download the lastest file from the BMW website on to a USB drive, plug it in you port and select updat software from the settings menu. Really straight forward.

I'm not sure this gives you sport display.

I'm prettty sure about 10 months I updated mine and whilst there would have been minor changes, sport display wasn't one of them.

To be honest, once you've looked at it twice the novelty will have gone wink

I think this update is just for the phone and infotainment. I've got the latest software from BMW.com installed, but I don't have the sport display (boo!)

As above, the downloadable update is only for the infotainment system. I had the software on my September 2013 build M6 updated to the version of the software that shows the heated wheel on/off message and should have the Sport Display, but I still don't have the Sport Display. It either needs coding or there is something missing in cars built before about March 2014 (for the M6 anyway) that prevents it.

My 2015 CP has it. Easy enough to access and configure as per previous instructions:
