I like that too. A lot. Sounds like the right kind of owner. The tints wouldn't necessarily put me off, seem to have been sensibly done and it shows no other evidence of Bruvving.

Well apart from the German style plate...
The interior looks in great condition for the mileage.

The Bradford one sold. That was very quick and very cheap too.

Can't seem to find it on here or AT... where have you put it on sale?

Sad to hear you're selling after such a short time, you just need to convince your wife that one or two of those 4 cars are hers biggrin

On the other hand I've taxed and insured my baby M and will be coming out of hibernation this weekend!

Apologies to the mods if this goes against forum rules.

I've been as open and honest as I can be in the advert. The car is not 100% perfect but unfortunately, I'm find less and less time to get it to be 100% perfect as I would like it to be.

My trader's insurance ran out at the beginning of April but they wanted £1800 to renew it (up considerably from £1200 last year) so I decided to not really bother seeing as I won't be buying and selling cars in the near future (for now anyway). As a result I just SORN'd it...at the time, with a view to keep it and sell the M6 and hope prices rise.

I've driven my M3 for a few hundred miles but it's increasingly getting harder to find the time to do so especially with insurance situation. Cracking drive and great engine but I'd rather have the money now biggrin

Will be very interested to see how you get on. Sadly I think if I move in with the GF mine will have to go towards the end of the year as there is no way i'm leaving it out on a busy road! £7000 sounds expensive but there aren't that many for sale to get a good grasp on + you must have spent a small fortune on those brakes and the lambda's!

Good luck, keep us posted please!

To be honest I have seen prices vary from £4000 to £12000.

Mine is the desirable Estoril blue/silver leather spec and is mechanically sound with no VANOS issues so I am hoping that counts in my favour. Can I sit on it? No doubt. Do I want to and risk a barny with the Mrs? Heck no!

You say no vanos issues, but rough idle from cold is one of the symptons of the seals being hard on the vanos.

Also, Estoril blue is desirable, but the combo to have is black leather which is pretty rare in these cars.

You have also stated 5.0 seconds to 60, the coupes only did this in 5.2 and the convertibles I think are around 5.5.

I would change the sump plug back to an original M3 plug as it does not look good on your advert.

For me as well, and being completely honest, I think the price is a bit strong. I am all up for the prices going up etc but I think you will struggle to sell for that money. I am happy to be proven wrong though

Good luck with the sale

Also, the discs and pads not being OEM (They was made by ATE and stamped as BMW)
I have no doubt they was expensive, but not as expensive as genuine BMW/ATE Items. Again, when asking big money, people expect to see genuine bits etc

Mboon,

Thanks for the advice! The sump plug is due to be changed soon.

Regarding price, how much is it realistically worth?

I'd not sell mine for less than £6000, I'd guess yours is around the same value. I'd love it if you got £7000 though!!

£7000 would be awesome Graham. I think they are firming up and increasing ever so gently. May Summer bring us all better fortunes!

Going on what others have sold for recently around the miles yours has I would say around the £5500 mark. Pitch it at £6000. Obviously if you want £7000 firm, hold out for it. But the prices will drop when the sun goes in

Sold mine to my neighbour for £6350. He is going to put it into storage with a view that it'll appreciate.

People were offering £5,000 etc and I was tempted to bite but held back a lot knowing it was worth more.

My 'old' car could possibly be on for sale again before the summer is out.

Well chuffed biggrin

Well done on the sale, you got a pretty decent price.
Shame it's going into storage, you could always offer to drive it for your neighbour once in a while to keep things working wink
