My Mrs can't stand my M3! She refused to drive it saying it's heavy and hard work, she has never forgiven me for selling our 328i auto that she loved driving

Had a wider search, not seen a white one before, overall looks very nice, would be a nice drive back smile

I've been keeping and eye out for a coupé for ages. The only ones I can find have been 'interfered' with or have the SMG shift which I'm not interested in. If anything I've found that unmolested convertibles were more readily available.

I couldn't belive my luck last year when I saw a very unassuming advert on Autotrader for a Dakar yellow Evo convertible that turned out to be a mint 1999 S Reg 1 owner, unmolested 60K car with FSH every invoice, mot's and tax disc's from new...! It's tucked away now but hoping to get it out this summer as part of my "Dakar" collection...!

Been offered a few Estoril blue and a couple of black cars through my wanted ads in various places, but nothing else colour wise, what do you guys think, more cars coming up for sale in the next few weeks leading up to Easter & beyond ?
Several sub £4k cars & most mid 4 & a couple 5.5-6

Couldn't give mine away when I had it up for sale.
Think it ended for £3600 on eBay. No interest on all the usual website before eBaying it.
And it was, genuinely, the cleanest I've ever seen. Serviced every year, irrellevent of mileage, fern green, late Evo, low owners. Absolutely cock on. And there was VERY little genuine interest. This is only going back a year.
Should have kept it (déjà vu!), but a growing dog-family forced my hand.

Could be because of the colour... green cars are always pretty hard to shift (except BRG, Lambo lime green, etc.)

So, that horrible moment when you wish you never read a thread.
Made me start thinking about my old one, sent the new owner a message about it, got these photos back.

Biggest ever motoring regret, letting that car go. Knew he was a fking bellend, too. Just to rub salt in the wound...

sad to see, looks almost a carbon copy of mine! Don't be too down. Values these days may mean that it may get repaired!

Probably unfortunately not, having been watching the market for 3+ months now, I have seen 2 MOT'd fully working Evo convertibles for sale, sold, & within a week being broken for spares. With Evo engines fetching £3/3.5k you can see why £4/4.5k cars are worth more in parts

Its crazy isn't it. Who is buying engines for £3500, surely there aren't that many E36 M's out there anymore!

Its been going on a while though. I remember a few years back when I had my 328 sport. I bought some Evo Sunflowers off a guy. He was making a good side living breaking M3's apparently!

Sold mine last year to a chap from Germany to break for spares.

Told me he was over here every couple of weeks picking up one or two.

Not really in the same league as the Euro M3's with its softer suspension & it could be said not even a proper M engine, more an uprated standard 3.0ltr lump with 'only' 240 bhp.

I sold my one owner full BMW service history Estoril blue with black leather convertible Evo around three years ago for £3600 fresh from a BMW service.

The car was shipped to USA for its new American owner who ended up losing his job and the car being sold in bits. The engine and transmission now sit in a 318i!

If I could buy that car back now I would. Although the coupes are better in the bends etc the convertible comes in its own when you put that roof back and the sun is out. I found out of the three E36 M3s I have owned, it was the one I hardly drove hard, never needed to with that roof down enjoying the sun and wind in your hair.

This thread has got me thinking of buying one for a daily driver over the summer while the GTII sits in the garage

That's interesting. Can the cars pass US inspections and is there a market?

Off to the US later this year and considering taking mine for a road trip and possibly selling over there.
