No they cannot, he was going to register it as a Kit car or something. I cannot remember how he was going to do it but the car had to be taken over in bits to do what he wanted rather than as a whole, maybe avoid import tax or something. No idea. It is such a shame as he spent a fortune on it before he even shipped the car (genuine CSL wheels, big AP front brakes, evolve remap, exhaust, expensive induction etc)

Probably unfortunately not, having been watching the market for 3+ months now, I have seen 2 MOT'd fully working Evo convertibles for sale, sold, & within a week being broken for spares. With Evo engines fetching £3/3.5k you can see why £4/4.5k cars are worth more in parts
jeepers never realised the engines were worth that much!

I've an evo engine sitting in an e34 touring for sale with not a whole pile of interest at not much more than that price!

I have seen one for sale but has 13 owners to its name! Should I avoid or give it a chance?

Had a look at the car.

Bought it on the VERY cheap.

Has some issues....thankfully VANOS is OK with no mechanical rattle etc. The issuss are all cheap to fix (some bulbs , drop link, brake pipe etc). Anything else and I'll get it on the ramps at work and have a nosey.

Got STACKS of paperwork with it which is nice to see. Needs a polish but no paint damage so I may end up keeping this if I end up liking it.

And now I have 4 cars....An Audi A4 B6 Avant, BMW M6 V10, A 600BHP Supra and now an M3 Evo convertible.

My wife is going to flip when she finds out. biggrin

If you can afford an M6 and 600 brake Supra, I'm sure the money to buy the parts you'll need won't even make a difference to your bank account! Lol,

Enjoy it!

I've parked (ie hidden) it at my mates house while I talk the missus around.

Will replace both lambda sensors as it came up on my diagnostic machine as it runs abit 'rich' at the moment.

Perhaps an oil service too.

The gearstick is abit floppy so I'll replace the linkage and maybe get a short shift set up fitted.

Other things like bulbs and links will get replaced at the same time.

The rear windscreen is plastic and quite badly faded so I may replace that or get it polished up.

Will swap to the regular 17" wheels as these Schnitzer wheels are very noisy at speed and transmit all sorts of bumps and rattles into the cabin.

Other than that - it's a beauty!

Such a simple peace of engineering compared to my M6.

Looks nice, agree it would look better with some OEM Motorsport alloys.

Can you tell us how cheap is very cheap?

Paid £3600 for it.

Got offered £6000 by mates neighbour.

If I put some time and money into it I could get a really decent return on it.

£3600 is cheap enough not to lose your shirt, well done.

Looks decent enough but needs some OEM wheels I reckon, should be able to sell those for a bit of cash.

Thanks so much... It's really nice and makes up for the thousands it's cost me. Seriously considering just storing it whilst I'm away... Think I might regret selling!

Have fired you a PM dude. Just wondering, what makes your car an Evolution II? over a straight evo?

Haven't got a clue to be honest! I'm sure it is on a document somewhere. Might just be a slight revision, it's a Sept 99 car which is one of the last ones.
