The E46 may well be a better car but that's not the point is it... Just look at the E30's compared to the E36,it's all down to desirability rarity and ultimately investment potential which other than the CSL's the E46 hasn't got at the moment,i would find a good E36 and hang on to it... I have.!yes

Asking price & not selling at 7k, the ones in the £4-5k price range are the ones that are selling.

Have you bought one yet? I see you recently commented on a post saying you are in the market?

Yeah, it does look odd. Not sure if thsr is standard. Lovely colour though, similar to the Alpina purple.

No not yet, (I started the thread looking for one), plenty of nice Estoril blue cars around (they seem to be the vast majority), but the Mrs who the car is essentially for thinks its too common and would prefer a different colour which seem to be not coming up for sale at the moment. Hopefully Ester will see a few more come on the market.

Estoril Blue may be common among E36 M3's but how many E36 M3's do you see on the road? It's still a quite stand out colour among most cars on the road.

What is your budget?

You say the ones in the 4 to 5k area are selling but the 7k plus cars are not, how come you have not bought one of the 4/5k cars?

As has been said, Estoril blue is a common colour for an E36 M3 Convertible but not for other cars. There are also next to none on the road these days. I could understand if you/she did not like the colour but to turn it down because it is "common" seems a little hasty to me.

I suggest buying sooner rather than later as the Wendy houses start getting expensive this time of year

That romantic red car looks fantastic. I wouldn't discount looking at a car because it has been advertised a few months, these cars don't shift so well over winter, and the owner may be up for a good haggle as it's been for sale a while.

I avoided Estoril blue when looking for mine too, mainly because they all seem to have that shocking grey interior plastic And dirty white leather!

That's an E46, not an E36

Hahahahaha - completely missed the point of the thread, lol.
Nice car, as an aside. What are you asking for it?

SMG, good/ bad in an E36 ? with the E46 it is said to be the preferred option over manual, is it very different/improved over the E36 ?
A cars come up at the other end of the country, but its SMG, I've not even been in one with it let alone driven one so after peoples opinions/experience of it.
Run away, very quickly
Why Charlie ? because it is not great to drive, or because of the problems they seem to have ?
