other than a magnet. Is there any way to check the Ally doors? Do they actually make any difference other than a nice selling point?

By which you mean sensibly priced cars I assume, the majority of the overpriced ones on PH and elsewhere have hung around for some time, compared to those I'm not surprised this one sold.

Blimey! Paid £3k for this last year with a shade over a hundred thousand on the clock. Mechanically great with only a few tatty areas on the bodywork and a small camcover oil leak to do - drives beautifully too!

Seems like I did ok!

The M3 I owned had that interior and once clean, it comes up really really well. Wears much better than the leather.
I agree the alcantara interior is really nice in the flesh. I've had it on both my previous M3s and it wears so well, much nicer than the leather IMO. However they were black, I'm not keen on grey interiors full stop.

£3k for that with just over 100k - you did better than OK! It's probably worth twice that now.

Figured I can spend a little money on the car to bring it up to the highest standard and be happy in the knowledge i'm not throwing money down the drain.
Took it to work and back today: quiet roads and sun shining, perfect. Having said the above, even if it was a depreciating money pit - I'd still love the old girl!

Great cars and after so many years living in the E30's shadow as the poor sibling, it's about blinking time they were recognised as the capable, enjoyable driver's cars that they have always been.

Well said. They are great cars, get out of something modern and drive a E36 M3. It just drives so right and still goes very well

Pitch it around the £7,000 mark and see what you get offered.

They are great cars (all of them) I know your has had money spent in the right places and recent work which is why I said 7 before everyone jumps on me.

I would keep it if I was you though, practically free motoring now with the price increase etc.

If you are interested in a GT or GTII, have the money in your pocket ready to go and jump on them when they come up. I know a few people buying them up as investments and they have money ready to go for them

This will probably come across all wrong to some but it would be really nice if not almost everything that was written about E36 M3's was about the actual car (flaws and all) rather than how we can all retire on one if we buy now. This constantly talking up of perceived values is abit...well...uncool.

It's also interesting talking about values as it's easy to do online. The real fun with cars is when you're out in them though

This one looks to have a high estimate

Up on PH, asking WAY too much for it.

In that thread he states its always been white, but in the Ad it says black.
