Do you own an E36 as all your posts seem to be talking up the prices of these cars!

It looks a good car and that's a reasonable price given the mileage, but a steal? Also £35k for a GT2? There is no way they've gone up 50% in a year.
Speak to munich legends, they have the buyer of that cars details. Tell them you want to buy it and what it would cost to get it back to the UK and mot'd etc. let me know if it's less than £35k smile

I'm after a GT2 but I can't find one for sale.

I have spoken to owners and the prices seem like they're going higher by the day.

Please send a link to any GT2 for sale!!
If a GT2 is £35k then why are you looking for one? Way, way better cars you can get for that money, like a CSL for starters.

I'd beg/steal/borrow another £5k and get my bum in a 1M, but that's another story... hehe

Craig, fancy slinging up a pic of your Dakar collection??

Because I'm hoping to get a higher mileage one for less!
'Better' is very subjective. Better how? Colour? Rarity? Memories? Mileage?

A cater ham r500 is better than a CSL for driving thrills, it's not all about driving thrills

I'd like a good GTII for up to £17k ish.

I a'm aware of the car and it would be unfair to comment but it didn't tick all the boxes for me.

That's strong money for one, being just a regular model.

I don't think anyone would regard £13400 as a steal. There are people on here and Cutters who got E36 M3 Coupès with mileage at around 60k for close to £6k at the end of last year. You do come across as though you have a lock up full of E36s Jonah. Talking up prices whilst you are in the market and when there is a whole host of evidence to the contrary is perverse.

A friend of mine has been looking for a low mileage coupe for a while and he'd love to get a mint cherished one for 6k and 60k miles! Most seem to be well north of 100k wanting loads spending on them frown

As would I. I think it's £10-12k for something desirable now but the talk of prices up to £20k for non-limited Evo Coupès up thread is absurd.

Hi Charlie,

I don't think my humble opinion makes much difference to prices, if so I'd like to talk down the price of 355s lol.

If you know of a GTII for sale please do let me know. smile

I would have an e36 m3 coupe, manual, for £6k if it's good with 60k on the clock, I don't think they exist but if they do then I'd be interested.

I'd love an E36 M3, preferably a saloon, but to question why a CSL could be a better car is a bit weird Jonah. It is better in almost every perceivable way - driving, noise, rarity, excitement, performance, desirability on the open-market. And looks IMO

I too had begun to question your motives, wondering if you actually owned a GTII already, as for the last number of months you seem to mention nothing but the spiralling values of these. Now they are higher than even decent E30 M3 values? Sorry, can't see it I'm afraid, no-one in their right mind will pay £35k for one in the UK, and the Germans will have little interest in the "rarity" of the RHD GT models

Did you even check on the GTII for sale a couple of months ago here in Dublin for the equivalent of £11K which I linked for you?

Sorry, to be clear, yes, I fully accept the CSL is generally considered a better car. But it's not what I want. My friends dad had a gt2 when we were at school so, for me, that's the car I like.

It's a bit like why some guys prefer a sierra Cosworth to a new focus RS or why blokes of a certain age like muscle cars in the US - it was their high school car etc.

That dublin gt2 sold quickly.

I wasn't aware that prices went up based on what some of us blokes state on the Internet lol. If so I think they're an unloved m3 compared to others, ugly, have VANOS problems and the Gt2 is no quicker than a normal e36 m3 and no racing pedigree. Now, can I have one for £5k hehe

That's fair enough, actually wanting one more than a CSL I can understand. It's why I have an E34 M5 despite the fact that an E60 is a better car in all sorts of ways. However, I still think E36s will always have a ceiling in their values relative to the lower end of clean E30 M3s. But if it's the car you want and plan to keep for years...

I'm sure one of the 100 will come along soon. Keep an eye on that Irish website, as one of those two recently sold GTIIs might still be in the country and come back on the market. If I spot or hear anything I'll let you know

Thanks v much.

It's funny how childhood stays with us.

I'd prefer a diablo over an aventador. An f40 over a la ferrari etc.

Yep, spotted that on eBay last night. The car looks good but a very average advert, no mention of brakes, vanos, suspension or anything specific to rust. In the same neck of the woods as the Dakar Yellow one, i.e. a thoroughly offensive distance from me in London. I've seen some great pictures of techno violet M3s, but those aren't them. The seller should have awaited for a bit of sun.
