Hey,

So i have read its best to top up the oil when the car asks as it could mess with the sensor. I currently have a reading of 0.3 on my dash but no prompt yet. When does it usually pop up? Should i be concerned? Just don't want to mess things with the beast smile

Thanks all

You can top up now if you like, just make sure not to add more than 0.7L.

In any case, *never* add less than 0.5L, the algorithm the DME uses ignores increases in level smaller than that and will not reflect the addition accurately.

Ahh brilliant, is it best to just wait for it to ask or best to keep on top with the additions of minimum 0.5? Want to keep it in top condition...

Thank you

Just keep a litre of oil in the boot and top it up when it tells you.
You should get a warning when it gets to 0.2L (at which point you should add 0.8L).

You should get 2 warnings;
The first will just show up on your DIS and the lower part of the nav screen to let you know that your oil level is at the minimum. You'll notice this one comes and goes for a while depending on your driving etc.
The second will come up in the DIS and the main part of the nav screen and will tell you to put in 1L of oil at the next opportunity.

I usually wait for the second warning and then top up with a 1L bottle of oil.

How are you finding the car?

Also, don't worry if it still says to add a litre after you've topped it up, it seems to take a while (several miles/a couple of short journeys) to register the new level.

After topping up 1litre on the prompt, hold the BC button down on the stalk so it will recalibrate itself.

Ah yes, good point. You can do this before as well.

I've noticed this car is up for sale.

Why so soon? Have you had any interest at this price?
