I've been looking at purchasing one of these for a while, but due to commitments and indecision I haven't. Over the last year and half I've noticed that the floor price has stayed quite stable. The lower end 2008 cars with higher mileage tend to be around 20K.

The big difference is the higher specced newer cars have dropped from low 30K's to around mid 20K

Its kind of tempting to wait until the end of the year now to see if I can pick up a DCT EDC 20010 coupe for low 20K.

If you keep waiting you'll never buy one as they'll always depreciate smile. The E90 M3's do look good value for money imo. I also wouldn't be too bothered with EDC as the normal setting on a non specced EDC car is fine.

Prices are definitely hitting a wall around 20-25k for good used models. I got a good deal on mine nearly 2 years ago and have been offered what I paid for it so they are definitely holding up.

With the new M3 and M4 not being the biggest of hits has probably helped prices of E92's from dropping significantly. I was pleasantly surprised when I was offered £32k trade in on my 2012 dct with 22000 miles and was told they expected more owners to upgrade.

I wasn't that bothered about EDC when I was looking, however, now having experienced it first hand I would definitely be wanting a car with EDC.

Mine had to have EDC as well because I knew that every time I looked at the gearbox the blank button would have drove me mad!

I do agree that the standard car rides fine without EDC though.

Lee I know what you mean. I might just tipex EDC onto the blank smile.

Nice one! biggrin my brother in law hasn't got EDC on his and I thought that drove absolutely fine and I was always envious of his M branded covers on the top of the suspension which mine didn't have because of the EDC. frown

I pulled the trigger on one in January. 2008, Silverstone, 40k miles, EDC.

I looked at M135is as well and figured this would lose a lot less money over a couple of years. I'm sure there will still be some downward movement though.

Mind sharing how much you paid? Is it manual ?

Also does anyone know when buying Auc can you normally haggle 2 years warranty. I've noticed there's not much of a premium for AUC cars as was the case a year ago.

Yes, manual. I paid £22k from a main dealer with a 12 month warranty. Having spent some time on here since, it sounds like I should have pushed for two years.

A dealer offered an identical car with higher mileage (68k from memory?) for £19k but it wasn't in particularly good condition so I walked.

I'd say anywhere around £20k for a good early car with a warranty you're doing ok (that was the case in January anyway).

I should say as well that I wasn't too bothered paying an extra few £k for the revised lights and sat nav on later cars, didn't seem worth the extra to me.

Mine was a sept 2009 model and it didn't have the later lights but it did have the later idrive/nav and it is a fair bit better than the older set up and some like to retrofit it as well but as you say its far from a deal breaker though.

Enjoy the new motor. driving
