The early hours of a Monday morning is a favourite time for these bds.

They need to die, they really do.

When I asked a copper about the extent of force l could use if threatened/confronted in my home, he replied that I could belt them as hard as I could, with anything I could find, once.

I'll take that.

I hope the car is not recovered and that you get yourself another beast soon.

Don't let these bds spoil your dreams.

I hope they crash and the automatic door closing system malfunctions and the car burns.

Will teach their 'homies' a lesson too.

Guys, sadly my M5 was stolen straight off my driveway on monday morning early hours. Missing it already. Watch out for prying eyes and where you put your keys, I gather these things are targeted a lot. If anyone wants an unused set of tyres, an LCI front grill or rear M performance carbon splitter then drop me a line.
Really sorry to hear that fella. Hope as said above they crash & burn to death.

Feel a bit vulture like but you did ask, what size/make are the tyres as i'll need a new set fairly soon.

About 27k miles into mine after the first 12 months - and I still think it's absolutely bloody brilliant.

Am loving mine. Best pdk style box I've ever driven. Trouble is I'm addicted to m2 mode... Bit too easy to get the rear out sometimes though :O

Wills2 I always find the cars you own interesting. Normally what I aspire to. Torn between M4 and M5 although running costs of M5 scare me a bit more. I know you have recently had both. How do the two compare.

My M135i has just gone back and I know both will cost much more! Depreciation / purchase price I'm ok with.

Servicing / tyre wear / non warranty items / brakes and MPG (I know) is what I'm referring too

It's the M3 I've got, it's much more sporty than the M5 but the M5 has a much better interior larger etc...M5 king of the motorway the m3 offers nimble handling and a really grippy front end flicks into corner like no ones business just make sure the rear follows!

Costs are probably 20% better with the M3 on fuel and other consumables, whether that is a factor depends on your annual mileage.

I got 30k out of my MPSS on the M5 I won't get the same out the M3's tyres because I drive it harder and more often.

I think that's the difference the m3 wants to be driven the M5 wants to cruise (abet very bloody quickly!) Oh and the M5 would muller the M3 from 90mph onwards..

The M3 doesn't half feel st compared to the M5, doesn't it?

It's hard to go back the way, but sometimes it's necessary to go forward!

Rubbish! Much prefer the F80 M3 to my F10 M5. Think Wills hits the nail on the head. The M5 wants to cruise but the M3 just wants to be driven.

M5 to me seems a bit of a one trick pony i.e. it is a straight line space rocket but too heavy to be a b road blaster. Don't get me wrong the M5 is still a fantastic car but the M3 is more of an all rounder.

No the M3 feels alive and does things an M5 can't, but I loved my M5 as it did things the M3 can't, so I'm not going to get into a mines better than yours pissing contest.

Both fab cars anyone should feel lucky to drive one daily, nice to experience different things.

Thinking of changing my E60 M5 and since my wife picked up her 16 plate Golf GTI the other week my M5 feels like a dinosaur compared to the GTI.
Had a look at a 2013 Audi RS4 avant this morning but can safely say I won't be buying one. In the flesh they just don't look that great. Had a look at a September 2013 F10 M5 this morning as well which to me seems on another level compared to the RS4, I'm talking looks and cabin finish, the BMW just looks a lot plusher inside. This was a Monte Carlo blue with only 15K miles and one owner who has just traded it in for another brand new M5. The car look to me like it's been garaged all its life as it is immaculate inside and out, no scratches or dings anywhere. I am super fussy about my cars so they have to be just right condition wise. It didn't have the sun protection glass which is great for me as I can't stand dark tinted rear windows. The down side is it only had a couple of optional extras from new, no TV which I do actually use in my E60 plus numerous other options I would normally look for in a used M5.
I'm a bit torn as it's such low mileage and immpecable condition in the right colour and would make a change to have the lighter leather rather than black but maybe I should wait for another with a better spec with similar miles. At least I do know that I don't want an RS4 !

Had my M5 since June last year when I bought it new. MCB with Competition Pack and I absolutely love it. Have done just over 10,000 miles in it with no issues. Drive it most days and still look forward to every journey in it. Roll on the summer when the roads get a bit drier... Oh and the noise is getting better as it does more miles. The Comp Pack exhaust adds a much more fruitier sound.

One thing I did notice was the cold start map is a lot shorter than my E60. I'm sure the F10 cold start was about 30 secs which is good.

Agreed - I have the standard non-CP exhaust and it's definitely improved with mileage. It would be nice to upgrade it at some point but I'll save that one for another day smile
