6th month left of m5 lease

Thing is the e63 is old fashioned and plastic inside with poor in car tech and has the same body as an e220 no flares on the arches and looks very plain to me.
Nice engine though.
The attraction for me is the fact it is a bit plain. The engine is stunning (I have one at the moment) and it bests any other car I've owned (911s/RSs/Mcars). The M5 is far nicer inside, that I'll happily concede. I'm sure it has better sounds as well. TBH I'm torn between the two but leaning towards the MB...just for that engine. I'll test drive the M5 though. Nice engine though.
I looked at the e63 I like them (maybe that didn't come across in my post!)
But I was disappointed with the interior in terms of the quality for a 70k+ car and regarding tech (idrive/connected drive/apps etc...) the BMW is in a league of one in the sector.
That 5.5V8 + the lighter weight sure makes it a barnstormer that's for sure.

Motortrend has the 2014 E63 S AMG as faster than the fastest M5 Competition Package.
You know we could do this all night...

Except there's a huge difference between the US and UK versions of the 'S', notably that only one of them is AWD.Motortrend has the 2014 E63 S AMG as faster than the fastest M5 Competition Package.

The proof is in the pudding. As shown in the above videos the M5 is considerably quicker
I'm in the same predicament M5 goes in Dec after 2 years on contract hire.
I've recently test driven the M6 GC, CLS63 AMGS & the I8, Just the RS7 to go, I had at least 8 hours in each, the MB for 3 days!
The I8 is the most special car so cool, lots of tech looks unique, but maybe too much of a head turner, people were driving alongside and filming the car. You look like a tw@t getting in and out as well.
I want one but would have to sell the kids as they will not fit into the back whatsoever, maybe an option....
The M6 is a great car, better than the M5 no doubt, handles and more importantly gets traction down more easily.
The winner though for me is CLS 63, it's beautiful inside, sounds great, and goes like stink, in a 'refined' way if that's possible with an AMG.
The M6 seemed to handle slightly better, but it was v wet with both cars so difficult to be exact.
I may just have BMW overload though as I have five now in a row, and something inside just wants to change.
May just extend the M5 lease as as I have a cracking deal on it, and it ticks all boxes.
Trying to organise the RS7 now, I could drive any of these cars and be happy, it will probably come down to who has the best deals available when it's time to pull the trigger, in the mean time I'm going to test as many as I can.
Must point at that MB delivered the car to my door on a Saturday and collected it on Tuesday morning, very good service.

For me the CLS has the most potent sound drive feel etc. The M6 is cracking car. What about a panamera Turbo S?I've recently test driven the M6 GC, CLS63 AMGS & the I8, Just the RS7 to go, I had at least 8 hours in each, the MB for 3 days!

The CLS and the new SL actually have better interiors than the equivalent BMs, refined and absolutely beautiful. Sadly the CLS 63 won't be in my price range 'til next year. There's a grace to those big cars that the M6 doesn't possess...goes like stink though.Edited by popeyewhite on Saturday 28th March 15:42

I've also got a E220 CDI 2011 Sport and between this and E63 AMG there isn't a great deal of difference to me in the interior compared to a standard 5 series and a M5 for example. In a M car you I can tell I'm in a M car. Some people may feel differently. But to me the build quality is better in the BMs than the MercsEdited by popeyewhite on Saturday 28th March 15:42

I'd agree, broadly. The interior in the E and C class Mercs and their AMG equivalents is poor. Top of the ladder (AMG variants) CLS and SL better than top of the ladder BMs though.forest172 said:
what we talking on a contract hire profile? i fancy one
These are PCP figures. You'll notice the dealer contribution of £6k, base car is also being discounted by about the same value (£12k discount overall) & spot the subsidised GFV.http://www.audi.co.uk/explore-models/finance-calcu...

The RS6 is really in a different league of expensive compared to the M5. Its at least 1/3rd more. Love the look and AWD not so sure on the steering and handling. Come on BMW, I want an AWD M5 with ceramics.
Not so much now as Audi are finally supporting the RS6 to shift tin (about time too). They're supporting the GFV & offering a £6k contribution as well as further dealer discount. As far as i'm concerned it's still not a match for the M5, unless you really want a hearse, however price wise they're now on a par, albeit not close to the deals available on M5's when i got mine.
