I am experiencing an annoying delay with my car stuck in the port of exit, Cuxhaven. Car was built on the 9th.

Seems there are big delays with cars coming into southern dealers via Southampton - anyone else in the same boat?

Was at local dealership yesterday and apparently they are a roro ship short after the capsize in the Solent. Cars are being built on time but there's a bottleneck at the German port

Or maybe it was badly damaged at the port and has to be repaired before delivery.

I had more than a 3 week delay on my M4. I was due to take delivery on the 1st March, car was built on 17th February but stuck at the port of exit until 10th March. I eventually picked it up on Friday 20th March, 3 weeks late!!

Apparently there is a huge amount of stock at the UK Ports which is affecting the shipping coming in. At least that's what the email says that the dealer shared with me.

Yep, looks like I am staring down the barrel of a 2-3 week delay. Scheduled to be on a ship this Thursday, arriving in Southampton Friday. Seems to be a significant failure in the BMW supply chain.

Did you wait it out, or were you able to escalate?

I had no choice but to sit it out!

I kicked off with BMW customer services as it meant me having to re-tax my existing car. They've today offered me a £500 dealer credit.

To be fair to my dealer though he ended up putting me in one of their demo cars so I didn't actually end up having to re-tax my car :-).

I was still pi$$ed off with having to wait.

This really underlines also the rediculous situation that the entire world it seems can do the European Delivery and pick their car up at the factory. But we in the UK aren't given the option.

I rather suspect quite a few would be happy to pick up at the factory and have a Euro blast home rather than wait an extra 4 weeks.

My 325 GT was built on 23rd Feb according to the vin no. I was given and I am still waiting for it to arrive.

My dealer still can't give me a firm date when it will be here either but has agreed to provide me a courtesy car for mu trip away next week if it isn't here by then.

Very frustrating.
