Hi guys I was thinking of lowering my E60 M5, not sure what springs to buy also not sure if I should do it or not either. The car in my opinion sits too high at the front and the back is kind of alright but could do with lowering slightly too.

Will it effect the ride quality at all? With the EDC in comfort mode at the moment on standard springs it feels lovely to drive and is nice an smooth when you put the EDC is sports mode it gives it a nice racey bumpy feel which is all good and well for about 30min or so.

If I do decide to lower it will it effect the EDC in anyway?

Any tips welcome.

Thanks

Have a look around M5Board as this has been discussed a fair bit.

Changing the springs will put the shocks under a little more strain but nothing to be concerned about. I have a set of Lowtec 20mm springs being installed on Tuesday to the front of zee barge as I hate the huge cave like gap in the front arches.

It seems that Eibach, Lowtec & H&R are the best springs for the M5.

Go for it.

Do you think 20mm at the front should do the trick? I've seen a set of H&R springs online 30mm at the front and 20mm at the back I was thinking of going for something like that.

I'm running 15mm spacers all round and I don't want scrubbage.

I lowered my E63 M6 last weekend, about a 6 hour job, but I was in no rush.

I bought these from ebay link

That's great price too.. How are you finding the ride etc? Is it still comfortable in comfort mode etc? Also pics would be great to see how peoples cars look lowered. Also it would be good to see how your M6 is sitting low too.

It feels quite a lot stiffer, even on comfort, but I've probably only done 20 miles or so.

Here are some pictures.

H&R from Euro Car Parts.

Quite a lengthy install if done right.
