Hi all,

Im after some advice from yourselves. I know there have been topics like this on and off but nothing very recent I can find.

I have been in the market for a new car and have test driven an M4 convertible (I wanted an M3 but local dealer didn't have one!) and an M5.

I really enjoyed the M5 as I was expecting to prefer the smaller car but I felt it lacked some refinement and comfort in comparison.

But im looking to make the purchase with finance (ideally hire purchase as I want to keep the car) and obviously 0% finance and I know Peter Vardy were doing 12k off list as well (though the deal seems to have disappeared now) is appealing.

Really I was wondering what people with more experience in this sort of thing think I could get in terms of a deal at the moment. If anyones bought recently and would be happy to share details that would be great.

Many thanks.

I ordered my M5 in early Feb and have already had the car for a fortnight... my dealer replicated the Vardy deal which worked out as 14% discount on the car and any options, plus £2k BMW contribution and of course 0%. For me this worked out at £80k list including service inclusive, discounted to roughly £67k, broken down as £6k deposit, £722/month x 47 and ~£27k final payment.

They do change these deals from quarter to quarter and as said above you have approximately 24 hours left in the current quarter - I doubt they'll make the cars cost considerably more but you may find that 0% becaomes 2.9% and the discount becomes slightly greater. I would also imagine your dealership bending over as far as possible to get an M order on the books before the end of tomorrow so use that to your advantage.

PS if you were in the market for M4 but preferred the refinement factor of M5... have you considered an M6? Don't be put off the list price - they are massively discounted bringing them down to not much more than the M5, and also on 0%. I have three kids so the F10 was a no brainer (and helped me justify it to the missus as a 'family' car).

0% interest is very appealing, the GFV's on BMW's aren't though.

Also looking at the M5 or the M6 GC. What's the difference in the space at the back between the two?

Also I've got the E60 M5 with the active seats. I do love that option ( some people don't ) does the F10 have it?

Only 4 seats in mine, and the good deals are not out there for the M6 GC at the moment.
£19K offer off list.

Thanks all.

Im going down today to speak to them a bit further, im not really looking to receive the car till the end of the year, wedding honeymoon and house move need to happen first!

Just to clarify I was considering an M3 but they only had an M4 that's why I ended up test driving one of them.

Well just to update I had a good chat with my local garage and they were totally unwilling to do more than the 2k BMW contribution + 1k from themselves even after pointing out the Peter Vardy offer, must not have needed to sell a car today smile.

On an M5? Very odd. Maybe the current quarter's deals are going to cease for the time being. Happy to put you in touch with my own dealer who did the above mentioned deal for me only weeks ago - just PM me.

Would be grateful if you could let me know who it was. The finance lady told me shed never done anywhere near that sort of discount on an M car and their loyalty/affinity scheme wouldn't see more than a 5% reduction!!
Seemed ridiculous, people where I live must have more money than sense to just be paying that with better deals around. Going to see Elms Saturday and see what they reckon

Many thanks

Day is almost up to get an order in before the end of the quarter but surely they have to at least honour the deal advertised on the main BMW website. I think the ASA would have a field day with them if they didn't.

Unfortunately if you read the small print, the elegibility date has now passed.

You'll need to wait a few days now before the new quarter offers are published.
