Lepsons can refurb to match the original finish.

Ok, little digging. Via the vin deocder my car has

783 M FORGED WHEELS DOUBLE SPOKE

Is that an option, or standard fit? It comes under the 'series option' heading so not sure if that means standard fit on an M3 or options specific to an M3.

Same here- I have the above wheels. How easy is the "Polished" finish to refurb?

so it looks like mine have been refurbished with either a diamond cut 'look' or just done badly laugh

You can see the lines on all of the face and the lips, however the centre bits are painted silver. The whole thing has then been lacquered.

Nat, not sure if I have read that correctly, but the 3.0 M3 never came from the factory with staggered alloys. No matter if it was contours, motorsports or sunflowers. If you look in the drivers door arch you will see the sticker stating the tyres. It will read on the 3.0 235s all round. The Evo will read 225s front and 245s rear. This is the staggered wheels.

when the evo was released, to handle the extra power and torque, they crested the same style wheels but in staggered fitment giving the rears an extra inch for bigger tyres.

As with anything like this, wheels can be changed very easy. I put the staggered contours on my 3.0 M3 saloon. They do look better IMO.

The Evo Motorsport wheels (see my photo above) with staggered fitment had no writting on the face like the 3.0 wheels.
Not sure you are correct, my 95 3.0 coupe had the staggered wheels, also had the motorsport engraving and the spare was the larger rear size, bought the car from a chap who had it for his 18th birthday and not the kind of thing I think he would have changed in its life, also the larger rear wheel in the boot fitted perfectly ie no lifting of the rear carpet etc, it now sits in the garage as the car has gone. A coffee table one day when the wife lets me.......

The lighter forged M Double Spoke staggered alloys were factory options from the start of production of the M3 3.0.

I too found this on my mate's Evo with the BMW Motorsport engraved wheels, the rears had at least twice as much dish

Just had my original wheels refurbished in BMW High Power Silver ( apparently that's the official name?) wasn't fussed about a polished lip again but my wheels are 7.5j front and 8.5j rear from the factory. (Option code 783) and fitted with 235 tyres all round.

Some E36 M3 models have wheels that have "BMW MOTORSPORT" written on them and some don't.

Does anyone know why this is so?

My old E36 M3 had the "BMW MOTORSPORT" wheels; were these unique to the Evo models or something?

They were done by a company called My Alloys in Basingstoke. £60 a wheel

My 1999 convertible had polished rims from new and to be honest weren't that bad but me been me wanted them perfect, had all five re polished with new centers and M badges 100% spot on now and iirc just over £300 for the lot...

The car is 100% perfect now,Just need to try and use it a bit now...

Alloys with the 'Motorsport' script are forged.

Are those 840 calipers?

Do they fit without spacers on the standard wheels?

Car looks great - it a lovely colour!

Really? As above. My spec shows forged wheels, but I have no Motorsport script.

Hi, thanks. Yes they are 840 Brembos. They need a 15mm spacer to clear them though

The strange thing is 840's were renowned for having terrible brakes.....!
