As a very simple rule of thumb maximum 'normal' discount should be 12% plus whatever 'chassis support'' bmw UK is throwing in. At the moment on the M6 this is £6,500. On the M5 £2,500.

So John on your £102,230 spec you should achieve £12,267 + £6,500 = £18,767 at least

The discounts before were much better because the chassis support was £18k!

You may get more if the dealer is willing to lose money on an individual chassis to hit a volume bonus- but the above is rule of thumb for breakeven for them. Having a trade in makes it even more complicated as they may offset what they can mark your trade up by when they sell it into the above figures to still break even on the deal.

Then if you buy it with someone else's money there is the kickback on the finance...

Well guys the deal is done

San Marino Blue, black leather with Piano Black. HK, 20", comfort access, speed limit display, surround view, multifunction seats, privacy, service pack and guaranteed build slot for next month.

Took a bit of a hit "as expected" on the 6er but got 19% discount on the M

Its cost me, but nothing I can not live with laughlaugh
Lovely spec... forgive me if I missed it, as there's talk of M6GCs in the topic, which conflicts with what you've been posting referring to M5s, but isn't San Marino an M6 colour? If you managed to do a special order for an M5 in SM, I really look forward to seeing pics as I don't think there's any others in the UK?

Bought it second hand with a massive 4000 miles on the clock. I drove it home on saturday on the motorway which took over 5 hours, some of which included stop-start traffic due to bank holiday masses. It amazingly averaged 28.7 mpg for the trip. Which is somewhat better than the 11.5 mpg I averaged on the extended test drive!!!

In that he crashes and then hires someone else to drive?

Can't say I've seen Driving Miss Daisy. But if her trips are mostly motorway, cruising at about 80 leptons, then yep, I was!
It was up to 30.4mpg at one point!!!
But yesterday I was back at 16mpg!!! And a bird s*at on my lovely clean car. I'm back in the real world again now!

Nice work! lick

Spec looks good - I'd sack of the pants HK and go for the B&O though - it's awesome!
Ignore the above as the B&O is at best a little better than the HK. Anyone crazy enough to spunk £5k on a marginal uplift needs therapy, however if it's on a used car it's defo worth it as would basically be for free. It's good but not worth 6x the cost of HK. Bear in mind you'll likely be listening to low quality source material & only so much Sound Processors can achieve with MP3's.

Re HK

Last 3 cars have had it and I am happy with it, If the B&O system had been cheaper I may of speced it but happy enough with the HK
