So supposedly im second on the list at my local BMW dealership, put down a deposit in October and have been patiently waiting since. To be honest its in my interest to wait patiently because ideally i would like to see some reviews before i fully commit, if not no problem but that would be the ideal scenario.

Dealer emailed me end of last week saying 1st slot has been confirmed for delivery in June but they are struggling to get a second build slot, now i call bull s*** because looking over the forums dealers are getting 2 cars with 1 normally around June/July and the second towards the end of the year.

Thoughts? Im yet to speak with the dealer yet but waiting on a call back, he also didn't reply to my email last week to confirm i was still second in line ...

I am first at mine and the built is for September. Likely the second one will be either for end of year or for 2017..

I have a confirmed build slot for delivery September 2016, unfortunately this week I've had a massive change of circumstances which means that while I will be able to purchase the car (I am able to privately finance the purchase though other means... Very PH haha), I will not be able to afford to keep/run the car for the long term.

The question I have now though is, do I cancel now and get my deposit back, or do I take delivery of the car and move it on quickly while demand is still high and potentially make a small amount for the trouble?

I can't see the m2 being special enough to secure a premium big enough to make it worth your while. Probably best to wait for the reviews and then make a final decision but as I say I can't see the car making the same premiums as a GT4

Can't see the car making a premium as the build numbers increased from earlier numbers .
M2 CSL if we get one then that might have a premium .

So, I managed to bag myself a december delivery slot this week, apparently the dealer had a cancelled order. However, he wants a £2k non refundable deposit which seems pretty unreasonable to me. No problem with the £2k but why non refundable?

Looking at this thread everyone elses is refundable. Anyone else think that's a bit off?

I guess any dealer can dictate the terms as they see fit. This though does not tie in with a high demand car that they could, in theory, move onto someone else easily. By any chance is this a dealer in North London?

thats why I thought it was odd as they can easily move it on again. I have a focus RS on order and one of the first deliverys but Ford are perfectly happy to refund right up to the point of delivery.

Yep, how did you know, do they have previous?

Are they also saying that you must accept the existing spec and you must register in 2016 even though it is due with them in week 52? If so, yes.

Not quite no, I can spec it how I want but yes I have to register it week 52, which I also found quite annoying. Did you chat with them about the same car?

Yes. I have a copy of the original order showing a delivery date of 4th January. They tried to make me accept the spec too but relented.

interesting, couldn't pm it to me could you? So it's actually a 2017 delivery date then?

It was for the original buyer. It won't do you any good as that is why I didn't place a deposit on it 10 days ago. They flatly refused even though they had sent me the evidence. This was after they said I had to accept the original spec before relenting on that point. It was going to be a £500 refundable deposit though.

Yeah guess so. Well it all seems a bit strange that they would insist on the week 52 delivery if it was originall a Jan one. And as the non-refundable suggestion I've no idea....

Any ideas when the first reviews of the M2 might make an appearance?

I've heard that first test drives are on 12th Feb so within the week.
