Put down an M2 deposit today

With such a poor GFV, the good news is you're paying loads of capital off during the rental so I would expect a healthly balance at the end and forget paying 10.8%, surely your bank will give you circa 5%??
Is the GFV really that bad .... 45% residuals after 4 years. Remember they almost always build a buffer into these so there is some equity at the end of the term.dbryder said:
I had an email from my dealer today.
I'm number 2 on his list and will get one of the 2 build slots they have been allocated for Feb '16 (out of 4 total for 2016), to secure that I had to increase my deposit and it becomes non-refundable.
Hope others get similar good news

This is interesting. I have been informed by the dealer that build slots (and therefore estimated delivery dates) will only become clear when the order book formally opens...which may not be until January 16. Any deposits up to this point would be refundable. Anyone who has sat in M235i seats can comment if the lumber support is needed?
and
Is the Harman Kardon worth double the cost of the BMW advanced loundspeaker upgarde. (£600 v £295)
I had an M135i and I believe the seats are the same. Mine definitely could have done with lumbar support. and

HK is worth the extra IMHO.
I have been given an August slot. Do I keep it ? Was hoping April as first deposit at the dealer but non such luck as other dealers got in front.
To answer questions above. Lumbar support needed. Don't have it in the M135i and miss it. Also heated seats. Get them. I am going without the electric seats. Too heavy.
Same for the electric roof. Too heavy and raises CoG. No place in an M car.

Info for anyone that's interested. I received an email from Akrapovic saying they will have an exhaust available from April.

Cooper Reading had 3 but there is a waiting list now £1k down if there are any more than the 500 UK allocated made.
Too many speculators sadly - I wonder if it's worth punting a RS Focus to make some £

Sounds like I should keep my slot... if only it had proper M seats though

Does it have an M engine this time?
The gearbox, brakes, front and rear axles, crankshaft and pistons have all been lifted from the M4 Coupe, too, while there’s also extra water cooler for the engine to keep temperatures stable. The M2 also features an electronically controlled limited-slip differential – to help make best use of the engine’s performance – as standard. According to the press release. What am curious about is the chassis. Am sure the engine should be ok based on my experience with the m135i.

So same recipe as last time then.
Well last time the M3 had a V8 :-) This time it has a inline six turbo too. So arguably it's the bigger brother which lost out the most in one generation
