but will be popular if only because it's the launch colour.
It's only bloody colour......!!
It's only a bloody car....
Oooops....I forget the 'the' redface

I meant to write....It's the only bloody colour.
Now that makes more sense! I thought you were being contrary, so apologies.

I'm not a big fan of blues generally, and really didn't like Estoril. But I did like Laguna and the current blue on the M4. So before I buy something I'm going to be looking at thinking WTF did I do, I'd like to see it in the flesh. I'm down for blue, but will switch to white if I don't like it. But you are probably right in saying it's THE only colour.

Mines coming in September. Had the call today.

Gutted as I'm number 1 on the list with them as this is their first allocated slot.

Me too. Weird the way they have allocated cars. Glad to get one though.

I'm happy I finally have a date but I was expecting April being number 1 on their list. It's also irritating as I sold my E46 m3 recently based on only having to wait a few months. Arse.

Looking at depreciation proof cars for 9 months that I could do the odd track day in and am drawn to an e39 M5 at JamesPaul cars in Horsham... Step away from the internet Andrew!!

Had it confirmed today that im now No.2 at my dealer (they are getting 3 in 2016)
No info on build date as yet so no idea when it will turn up. Im hoping for July/August so I can book a euro trip to run it in. Hopefully Akrapovic will have an exhaust available by then too.

Do get the service package. Don't get any paint protection.

No one will be getting a penny off these. Why should they when there's plenty of people willing to take their place and pay list!

I thought you can't get the Speed Limit Display with the Sun Protection Package. I might be wrong?

You can get the sun protection pack with the SLD but it deletes the front screen band leaving only the darkened rear windows in the "pack" and pay the same.

Yes that's right

So what's the consensus manual or auto?

I am probably going manual as it won't be my daily driver but people tell me I need to try the dct, I have not driven a bm for quite awhile

I've a BMW DCT because I've a disability. Give me the manual (and two working arms obviously) any day.

The missus has a 1M. You can for much of the time leave it in 3rd when pressing on it has that much torque. Then again we don't yet know what the M2's manual box will be like.

The DCT is a fantastic bit of kit (launch control is fun) and mates up to the engine exceptionally well but it fairly disconnects you from the overall experience especially when pulling away and 3 point turns are a fecking PITA as it's so slow to respond. Though that may have been improved upon by now.

Decided I couldn't wait until September for my M2 so i negotiated my way into an M3 today.

I was number 1 on the list with a September delivery date, so if anyone is on the fence based on having to wait for an M2, Karl Haxton at Elms Bedford is the guy to speak to.

Happy to make an introduction if anyone is interested.

I know I'll probably regret it, however i'm certainly not disappointed with my M3 smile

I'm number 2 of 2 for next years allocations at my local dealership, considering going a different route due to me being impatient, if anyone was trying to get a slot and has missed out let me no we may be able to come to an arrangement.

I don't know which version of DCT you are referring to, but the DCT in my E82 135i is certainly not slow to respond for doing 3-point turns confused

E89 Z4 35iS

Recent software update has helped. Still slow compared to a ZF box.

Going to cancel my M2, had the deposit down for a few months now and im either 1st or 2nd in line at a pretty large dealer. Crap % APR, poor GFV and it looks like its not going to be a limited run so i would rather have an M4 with some serious discounts which actually works out slightly cheaper.

Good luck to all future M2 owners smile

Been informed today that my order will not be fulfilled until at least 18 months as the large dealership has only been allocated 2 slots this year with 8 orders placed. I don't suppose anyone knows another dealership anywhere in the country that had yet to fulfill its quota?
