Resurrecting this thread.

I gave up waiting for BMW to confirm details on the M2, the strong view was that there would be news at Frankfurt but not a peep unfortunately. Latest estimates are March/April 2016 and sadly I can't wait that long.

So ..... I went to my dealer and enquired about an M3 but we couldn't get near to where I wanted to be (best they could do was approx. 9% discount on list all in, I said I'd seen 14 and would they move nearer to that at which point the salesman shut up shop gave me my money back and we parted company !

Anyway I have since ordered another car which I hope to collect this weekend and it is indeed a BMW smile

Glad youve sorted it.
I also have a cls running 700+ and the wife has a m135i.....you would have been disappointed I think.
What exhaust did you have, sounded like a capristo but not sure, the only thing I don't like is mines a shooting brake and not the tightest of chassis with all that power going rear wards, 1000nm tq and 2 wheels

Hello

Mine is an SB too, excellent choice smile

The exhaust on it is a RADO which I imported from the US and which runs from the manifolds back to OEM back box.

New car is a V8 twin turbo too and will do another thread when it comes.

Are you keeping exhausts or selling...if so let me know!!!
I knew it was decatted from sound.
Dms do great things with m5
I am tempted but for some reason seem to be waiting for Alfa to come out and see what that's like
Mine was also white but now Matte grey shows off the lines better

Handling, general shock control and ride how does the M5 compare to the F10 Msport on 19's?

Does anyone know specifically what the differences in parts are?

Having not driven a normal F10 I wouldn't know for sure but expect quite a bit of difference in the parts.

Chris mentions a few times it is not comparable to an M5

And it's here, having been picked up on Saturday.

Headline review:

Very fast

Beautifully built

Great gearbox

Fantastic in cabin technology

Great handling for its size

Far too quiet

I've heard a rumour the M2 will be announced this month. Had a dealer phone me and ask if I want to put a deposit down. I'm not an early adopter...

I have had a deposit down for an M2 for a couple of months, but decided today to ask if they'll convert it over into an M2 CSL order (should there ever be one).

For me the current M cars (and from the looks of it the M2 as well) have moved away from what I really want in a car, hopefully an M2 CSL would move it back in my desired direction.

Have BMW contacted you yet about your deposit?

Did BMW allow you to convert it to a deposit for an M2 CSL?

My previous car was an M6. 99% of the time I don't miss the extra performance because 99% of the time you can't use it on UK roads IMO.
My previous car was the 2015 M6 Gc CP, I now have the LCI M3 and don't miss the M6 at all, you just can't use the M6 99% of the time, it is a waste.

JM, I'm really struggling to see how you have fallen for the M3.

The traction in the M4 I had for a day was terrible....and it was all over the place on anything remotely uneven.

A massive disappointment.....and sounded so wrong on start up.

I might get an M3 for a change until the next M5 arrives, by which time I will no doubt be a convert like yourself!!!
