13 cars already on sale hurts me some what. I might be sour grapes seeing as I'll have to wait another year before mine turns up but these cars must be launch edition cars that the dealers have moved on their demos. Now the dealers I understand making a quick profit but BMW Uk should have tied in these cars and not allowed them to be flipped for profit.

Ive heard of a few people picking up dealer demos and flipping them to indy specialties for a quick 3-4k profit.

Different dealers seem to have different policies. My dealers told me their group policy is they cant sell it for 6 months.

That's what I heard, then Sytner in Tamworth sold their demo car for a few £k profit before it had even left the showroom so now no one can drive it mad

And I'd be speaking with the chap at Gloucester (sorry, can't remember his name) but he deserves the business. Time and time again he has the foresight to offer BMW and MINI parts on forums in a very simple, friendly manner... and with a very decent discount: http://www.babybmw.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=83964

No affiliation bladdy bla..
Thanks. I'm a glass half full guy but it was wishful thinking. Guess I'll have to wait and cross my fingers for a CSL

Seem my optimism wasn't completely misplaced.

"The M Performance Sport chassis retrofit for the BMW M2 significantly increases the driving dynamics performance of the
vehicle. The additional lowering of the car (coilover suspension) not only produces a more dynamic driving feel, but also
reinforces the car's sporty appearance"

I can't imagine the M Performance suspension will be anything other than harsher than the standard set up. But don't confuse that with less compliant.

Specialist Cars in Stevenage have a well specced demonstrator. It has yet to be run in, but it is available for test drives. And will be for some time I was told.

Ha! I know the annoyance well... can't believe in all the iOS updates they still haven't sorted it

Something awesomely understated about a carbon-fibre clad black M car. Lovely

Depends what's meant by harsher. From standard, I think it needs to be a bit softer, especially in comfort mode at least, but definitely needs to be better damped/less busy. An adjustable set up should give more damping options, with ultimately better damping I'd have thought.

With regard to your last sentence, yes. But I don't think it will be softer than standard - even on its mildest setting.
I think it is made by KW. So the extra compliancy may well offset the increase in stiffness.

40% stiffer than standard form what ive read. M2 needs it or at least a subtle drop imo. Looks like its jacked up as standard.

I'm pretty sure the standard damping is not adjusted electronically, this is what the tech guide says about the switch modes and I can't find any references to electronically adjustable dampers (endless use of the word "dynamic" though)

Looking at the spec of the M perf. kit it appears to be manually adjustable ;

BMW M Performance Brochure said:
The adjustable shock absorber components offer different customised driving properties for driver dynamics and comfort. The height adjustment offers a setting range between 5-25 mm (5 mm lower than the series level). Independently adjustable shock absorbing technology for the tension and compression stage (16 setting options for tension stage attenuation / 12 setting options for compression stage attenuation).

Not sure what "load reversal/damping" is, must be damping? Either way, it is too hard and busy.

Having been taken out in a friend's car a few weeks ago, it felt perfect on some UK back roads. I wouldn't be changing it.

If I were going to use it quite regularly on track, then maybe I'd consider the M Performance suspension so that I can tweak it track side, and then soften it on the way home.

Inverted, unless you're getting the kit just to improve the car's stance, I'd honestly hold off till you've driven the car for a few days and then reach a verdict.

As this kit will likely be a KW1 or 2 kit in a BMW box with BMW prices......I'd hold off as well.

I've been in KW equipped 335i......not for me.
