1900 cars for the UK. I don't think production has gone up. I think people have been a bit spooked with the number of early cars up for sale which is likely to hit residuals. And some owners who have not seen eye to eye with the glowing Journo reviews.
It's a good car, not a great car.
Keep talking them down and with a bit of luck we might see discounts at a similar level to those available on the M4! Rather doubt it somehow but a new M2 for less than £40k would certainly attract my attention; saw my first one in the metal at a Car In the Park event yesterday and, while I didn't particularly like the Long Beach Blue, I'm sure I could find an acceptable shade if pushed!It's a good car, not a great car.

Wondering if the supply is being ramped up - mine (ordered late feb) is now due early November, was originally at the end of the year. Have seen similar from a few other posters.

Interesting to hear what the owners are saying with regards to it not being great?
I was an owner ....And it wasn't "great".
I saw your comment was just keen to hear what other owners were saying.
Interested in views not starting arguements :-)

It wasn't a sarcastic comment, it was a genuine question.

Apologies in that case. I saw your comment was just keen to hear what other owners were saying.

The good;
Looks, especially in LBB, but that's subjective
The noise, especially from a forced induction car
It's quick and grippy.
The not so good;
The steering - EPAS is still nowhere near as good as an analogue set up. It feels artificial, and almost requires constant fiddling. I remember it being too heavy in sport plus, but it's an artificial heavy. It feels like it wants you to fight it into turns.
Suspension - pretty poor in my view. The damping is not right. It's a busy ride unless on really smooth Tarmac. I don't mind a hard suspension, but I don't like a badly damped, fidgety one.
Brakes - grabby, but do work.
Seats - poor lateral grip. Which doesn't help in such a grippy car. Either the seat base is too wide at the hips or the side bolsters are too low.
Ratios are too a short, not sure if they are any different in manual, but the DCT was too short.
Not that bothered about the interior quality. I wanted a car to drive, not to live in.

I'd be interested to hear where you were able to get that. I have a deposit down elsewhere and am not able to get anywhere close to that. Feel free to direct message me if you don't want to put a response on the open forum. Thanks.Alpinestars said:

Are there more owners that feel the way you do?
Also, does that mean you'll sell soon?

Hard to know if others feel the same. It also depends on each persons reference points. I do know of another owner who sold pretty quickly, who was also disappointed with the car. Are there more owners that feel the way you do?

I sold mine 300 miles after buying it.

Guessing you've cancelled your other one in that case? I sold mine 300 miles after buying it.

Will be interesting to see if this view pervades and beds down and they start to enter the market with depreciation.

Anyone know a dealer in the South East with a manual M2 demonstrator?
I have an August delivery and am therefore apparently 2-3 weeks away from needing to confirm spec.
No way we are letting go of the M5 so need a proper test drive to justify keeping both, and want to test the manual for obvious reasons.
Hmmm. Dilemma.

same here - August delivery from a Surrey dealer, I drove the DCT but I'm still unsure.I have an August delivery and am therefore apparently 2-3 weeks away from needing to confirm spec.

If i get anywhere I'll let you know.
Picked up my M2 today, very happy! Traded my M235i and they are totally different cars, almost like going from a diesel to a petrol car. Body control is a different league and it just feels so much more planted. Exhaust note is much more like the M4 and very nicely done. Parking the M2 next to the M235 you can see most body panels are different, doors and wings, bumpers, in fact most of it except the roof!
Some photos next to my wife's M4, actually makes the M4 look a bit boring in comparison!!
