Anyone else dislike the Active Sound? Having come from an NA flat six I'm not a fan. Would consider a trick exhaust and disabling it tbh.

I thought I read somewhere that it can be switched off in sports plus mode or similar?
Yes, but only with ESP disabled. It would be good just to disable rev-match and leave everything else working normally and still have the option of different modes.
Effectively, do you have to hold down the DSC button for 3+ seconds to turn off the rev-matching?

Interestingly, I think I saw that the M2 is nearly 5cm wider than an E92 M3 (excluding mirrors), but the M3 is longer.

So having been the thread starter way back when and subsequently cancelled my deposit on an M2 with my local dealer in favour of a pre reg M5 from elsewhere I am now back on the list again for an M2 ! Delivery date as yet unspecified but expected to be q1 2017.

M5 has proven fun but post mods has become too powerful (750 ish BHp) is too big for my needs and having now run three mega bhp dailies in a row I think I want something a bit smaller, a bit more agile and something which gives its thrills at lower speeds.

Current thinking is for a dct car in Lbb. Anybody know if it's possible to get the BMW individual colours on the M2 ?

I can't believe it's been a year since you started the thread because it only seems like yesterday to me and I remember the thread well, time sure does fly by.

No. I wanted Signal Green but had to settle for LBB. It's the best of the available colours.

Robin, you could always wrap it... which also goes some way to protecting the paintwork from stonechips etc.?

Sound advice Pete

Prob best to get a standard colour for resale too I suppose.

I'll probably change my mind yet again by the time delivery comes around smile

br detailing chap... here is what you're after (posted a few weeks back):

(none actually improve the car's performance though.. how optimistic of you!)

And I'd be speaking with the chap at Gloucester (sorry, can't remember his name) but he deserves the business. Time and time again he has the foresight to offer BMW and MINI parts on forums in a very simple, friendly manner... and with a very decent discount: http://www.babybmw.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=83964

No affiliation bladdy bla..
They are incredibly good value and really good customer service... I literally just ordered some bits off them an hour ago. Ask for Phil or Tony 01452872666

Well that makes me feel a little better about waiting for my September delivery!

Quick question though - I've never had a BMW built to order so whats the timescale between production and delivery? I'd hate to get one of the very last MY16 cars and will contact the dealer if thats likely.

Also price increase?

Just had an email from my dealer re my new X5. My order was taken and then cancelled, then reinstated with a later build week so I had the 2017 model.

Mine is being built in the right week to get the new updates and the magic number is week 31 which is week commencing 1st August.

He also suggests that currently Apple Play will not be introduced at this stage but of course that can change I guess.

I really hope they install a switch to switch of the auto blip. And also install the proper M buttons on the steering wheel. I just don't see how thats not possible.

Saw a black one parked up at lunch time in Nottingham. It doesn't look that much different to a standard 2 series. Nowhere near the presence of the M4 and the interior is just M235i. Does it have a temp gauge? I forgot to look. It did have some weird looking upright carbon splitter things in front of the rear arches which looked quite cool - not seen anything like that before.

Sorry but i completely disagree. t look so much better then a 235i. If thats your comparison then its like saying a 440i looks the same as an M4.

Maybe it was because it was black, but it really didn't look that much better to my eyes.

Hello

I was in Wales pretty recently but not with the BMW club.

My M5 is pretty hard to miss as it's very black and very loud smile
