I have a friend in a BMW dealership with two M2 build slots available for this year delivery (Q4), would love to get myself into one but the funds don't allow it yet frown. If anyone is after an M2 I can put you in touch.
I'd be interested. My deposit has been in for 6 months and I'm still yet to get a guarantee of a Q1 2017 slot

I'd be interested too, I have a refundable deposit with a dealer but no idea where my slot is other than it's definitely not this year.

Can you mail me please.

Just had a call from the dealer, mine has been built and is finally on it's way. I almost can't believe the wait is nearly over beer

Is there still a decent waiting list for an M2?

Depends on the dealer. Some dealer have too many orders. Whilst others have allocations popping up.

Think I'm about to have a major fall-out with my dealer. Car has arrived, I've asked for transporter delivery as I can't get there to pick up (due to work). They refuse to help, saying no slots possible in Sept or Oct for a transporter delivery. ???? I don't believe it at all.

Yet they still want me to pay and have it registered before 30-Sept so it can fall within their quota.

Not sure if I'm being unreasonable (?) but had higher expectations of customer service when buying a £45k+ car.

I don't think you are being unreasonable at all.

I once had a not dissimilar situation whereby I couldn't get to the dealership to collect a car and they said "well can't somebody else come because it needs to be off the premises for our quarter end audit". I ended up complaint to the DP about their tactics regarding the sale of what was then a newly introduced £125k car.

I'm assuming they haven't done you any favours ref pricing or options etc given it's an M2 ? I think they're forgetting you are the customer.

Hi, your expectations are not too high at all. No idea of customer service at all.

Tell you what, i'll drive it from the dealer to yours. I promise to treat it nicely.

Deal?

Seriously, that's pretty annoying behaviour from them. I'd definitely not get them to drive it over to you either, not after my experience of my M135i turning up down the driveway with windows down, music booming out, and a young lad jumping out who promptly expressed how much fun he'd had and how fast he thought it was. That, and it mysteriously accumulated 250 miles over a 100 mile journey and as i found out later had left the dealership the day before!

Yup. Have zero interest in having it driven to me.

Unless they want to sell it to me as a used car with a corresponding reduction in price!! smile

My C63 was driven to me from Southampton to Nottingham - the driver was brilliant, asked me if I wanted him to go an clean it in a local car wash place of my choosing (I declined) and made a great effort to show me the trip computer versus total mileage, then overall MPG for the trip which was very high for the car and told me he never exceeded 70mph (a trust thing).

I was very impressed.

I was in Sytner Nottingham over the weekend and they had one ready to be delivered that day, looked great. My sales guy told me they are now telling customers 2018 for cars, but there is some potential for 1-2 cars in H2 2017.

In the short term these cars are going to hold their value well.

Tell them that if they can't transporter it till November then you will register and pay for it then!

My thoughts exactly! Shame as I've dealt with this dealer for almost all our BMW purchases over the past few years.

Anyway, let's see what happens!

So much bullst about availability on these cars. We keep being told there are only 1 or 2 per dealer per year, but keep seeing loads for sale. I was told I'd have mine in September this year, and then one miraculously appeared on launch day. And a whole load of them followed. It's very naive to believe the limited availability yarn.

c20 for sale just on PH, some near list and not selling. Tells you all you need to know.

Merely playing devils advocate here:

1) What was the 'Estimated Delivery Date' on the contract you signed?
2) Before ordering the car, was it discussed and agreed (verbally or in writing) that the car would be transported to you?
3) Roughly, how far from the dealership do you live?

Where I'm heading with this is... if (1) was September and (2) didn't happen, then I can somewhat understand why they're reluctant to agree to transporting the car to you. This is the end of Q3 and the end of a registration month and resources will be stretched. Also, if it is a central-London dealer, they won't have their own tilt-bed / transporter so will need to get a 3rd party to make the movement... thats usually £300 at the very least and they too are very busy at the moment. If (3) is under 50 miles, I would be surprised if they can't offer for the car to be driven to you as this would help you out and would keep the car in the month for them. I would also be surprised if you saw that solution as unreasonable given the distance, time of year and the fact that it is you who is unable to attend at the dealership to collect.

If (1) was September, (2) didn't happen and (3) is over 50 miles, I'd be even more surprised how you would expect them to deliver the car on a transporter, gratis.

By the by, if you don't get to a reasonable outcome and the chap who has already made the suggestion is busy that day, I'm happy to drive it over to you... and I'll do you a favour and take the long way round so that your running in service occurs sooner! wink

smile Send me your number and I'll pass on to the dealer ! smile

On a serious note, I never had any expectations of Sept delivery.

What I find unacceptable is that the dealer suggested there was no possibility of a transport delivery in Sept/Oct. I get September but no slots during the whole month of October too ? I call b/s.

It's a dealer far away from my home/work, they know that I give them business out of loyalty. I never expected the delivery to be included, was fully expecting to pay for it (which I had clarified).

I know I'm getting grumpier in old age but think the arrogance of the dealership has really gotten on my nerves.

Specific answers:
- estimated delivery consistent with current timing
- I am >150 miles from dealership
- hadn't clarified at the time of order but work circumstances mean I can't pick up in Sept.
