Put down an M2 deposit today
Discussion
I have an order in for a Mineral Grey DCT M2, and am expecting 18-24 Months wait, although I will probably buy used before then. Anyway, speaking to the salesman he was under the impression that BMW didn't allow any BMW Centre to even sell an approved used car at over list, even though some clearly are.
With this long waiting list, I wonder how exclusive this car is going to be and will residuals be effected. If there is no restriction on supply, in a few years there could be 1000's or is that excessive. According to How Many Left there are about 4,000 plus M4's. It is likely that more M2's will be sold over the same period.
I have booked a test drive tomorrow. However, as good as the car appears to be, part of me is saying this car might be a 'common' sight on our roads in a few years!
Buying top of the range to me come with a level of exclusivity, which may not be the case here, as good as the car may be.

Errr, what? You mean UK, or globally? If the former then perhaps, but definitely not the latter.
The movement on the £ might have some bearing on this. They obviously make money on these, but if the pound stays down 10-15% against the euro, they may choose to direct allocation elsewhere and maintain the current pricing.Sadly, due to being unemployed for two weeks, and the current state of the Banking Job market in London, I am going to have to try and get out of my contract, which is due to be delivered in the next week or so.
Spec is
Long Beach Blue
Manual
Sun protection package,
Split fold seats
Lumber
Seat Heating
H-k HiFi.
Whilst I hope the dealer won't have an issue refunding my deposit, if anyone on here would like me to pass on their contact details to take my place then it might make it easier. Obviously I cannot promise anything, but might be worth trying.
To say I am gutted is an understatement; I've had this on order since October last year.
Dealer is in London btw.
Cheers, Ben.

This wouldn't surprise me TBH; they can only produce so many alongside all the other models currently so why focus production on RHD vehicles that are less profitable without adjusting the pricing accordingly. This car gives some pics of the carbon bits on a black m2. In the same position as you, have an m2 with black grills but itching for more!
